Naming Guides: In Game?

It'd be really easy to just make links in the game that minimized FFXIV and opened your default browser to the Lore section of these forums.

Really, really easy.

Also, the name generator did follow naming conventions, but after about a year or so, they names started becoming bland and silly. An example, you ask? I have a mule whose name I pulled from the name generator.

As has been said, FFXI had this. Most of my character names came from the generator. Ragnar, Manabana, and Unstoppablefury. I totally support some mention of the naming conventions in the character creator.

The best randomly generated name I ever saw was on my friend's Galka character when I was trying to get him into the game, and the RNG rolled up "Fatherlycrevice". He took it.

Sadly, he's since stopped playing, but I hope XIV winds up with a name RNG -if only- for the potential of another good gigglefit like that...

Didn't XI have this?

XI did have the random name generator. I had a friend (Galka) who took the name generated, it was Crankydeathblow.

Another friend took a mule taru random name, it was Eiyui.

LOTRO had a naming guide available at character creation. It was pretty cool.

They should do this. Name generator and name guide. Maybe too much work though.
