    Roleplay Server in 2.0

    Hello♪ I couldn't find a thread on this, maybe my long day is getting the better of me @_@ haha

    But I'd like to ask if there are plans to officially label a server as 'Role Playing'.
    I have friends on both sides of the fence: Some would love to go to the role play server, and some abhor role play completely and would like to avoid it...

    But with Data Centers being added and having specific servers tied to certain centers, what if Balmung gets tied to say the Japanese data center, and the role players from there want to hook up to a center closer to home? Would the official Role Play server change for the western half of the XIV community? And if so, wouldn't it be difficult to say "Okay, now *this server* is the RP server!" and rely on word of mouth to spread the word? Or would you all prefer to have SE label one of the servers as 'Role Playing'?

    I'm hoping a dev can clarify this.^^ I'd like to see people go where they feel they'd fit in best, nothing worse than hopping to a server and seeing there's no Role Players because they're all somewhere else

    Inb4 the inevitable "Well you could just make a new character!"
    We could, but what about our 2.0 characters? Would suck to transfer them to the wrong place! haha

    I will totally move to the RP-server... only if.. only if you could accept my action of Haruhi and my possibility to follow the XIV's world.

    I know XIV is international where there will be language barriers and I just thought all English speakers should be born in LL while other foreigners born from different nations, it would be entertaining... I am not sure if RP is Japanese’s thing, correct me if I am wrong, I am curious if RPers are a Western thing only.

    Actually, many Western players don't understand what RP is. This is an example:

    This is why I am not proud to be an American because everyone has different opinions... Nevermind that! lol

    i wasnt aware Balmund was an "official" rp server anyway. but yes, if there is an official rp server i think you should all go there :P

    Haha it was more the 'unofficial' RP server, when XIV was being released the RP community banded together and decided on Besaid (Now Balmung) to be the go-to for RPers

    Out of Character Chat - Harassment

    Out of character chat (OOC): It goes without saying, but avoid out of character chat on the roleplay server. We realize this might be difficult at all times, and an occasional slip will happen. While we won't be actively monitoring out of character chat, if we receive player reports of harassment or blatant disregard of OOC we will take action.

    Honestly, I think the English speaking community far outweighed any other on Balmung. I only saw a few other language shouts every so often, and the population was definitely more active during western peak hours. If anything, Balmung will end up somewhere in Europe or North America. Well at least hopefully.

    I would only want to see an official RP server if they did things to make it official .e.g stricter naming policy and people incessantly talking out of character for the purpose of disrupting other's experience being a punishable offense.e.g. on an RP server I don't want to see stupid two-word phrases for names.
