B for me~
My character is a representation of myself, if I'm feeling totally mischievous that day I'll play on my lalafell but otherwise I am my easy-going elezen self. People can be assured that when I help them out ingame it's because I genuinely want to, not because I'm roleplaying a nice person lol (Which I surprisingly have been asked many times D: ).
It's tough to explain, but I really take pride in my character; not so much the gear side of things but how people perceive her, not to say that I'm gimp but for people to have nice things to say about me on a personal level totally trumps OMG UR PIXELZ ARE HAWT. I want my character to be known as 'the lass that will help you out if you need it' not 'The BRD who can get an arrow right between an Ixal's eyes'... even though the latter one sounds cool I want to be more reliable than deadly! haha

So even though I'm very connected to my character, I know the game is a game but I use my character as kinda like an extension of myself.

D) Kinda a mix of B) and C), my character is a separate entity with a (slightly) different character and story-wise I play it in a role of a "guardian" I guess. Making sure the character doesn't get killed etc. When interacting with others I'm mostly myself, with a bit of messing around/roleplaying, which depends on the character. Yes, I am attached to my characters.

I'm definitely somewhere in between B and C. I love to suspend my disbelief, and as I've said countless times before, I play XIV for the lore and the immersion. I love to pretend that it's me walking through the lush forests, or interacting with the various inhabitants of the world. It's why I create a character who most represents me, and why I've opted to use a form of my real life name in the game.

My character, a power hungry wizard who is treading the line between anti-hero and villain. Hates authority (very free-spirited), arrogant yet underneath the rock-hardness still exists an element of kindness. Also honorable, will not prey on the weak, but will often challenge those stronger. Bull-headed, has a huge ego, and dangerous when angry. lol

I'm in the D category.

I like to essentially watch the life and story of my character (that I got to create) in the world. I imagine it from a third person standpoint where Doctor Mog takes direction from me, but is her own being inside another world.

Some people tell me that "playing a female character is gay" and I have always responded with "looking at a male character all day is just as gay" which usually shuts them up. But the above is why. I don't feel like it's a reflection of myself inside another game, I see my character as a movie unfolding where I get to choose what they do.

I don't roleplay her either. So when someone asks Doctor Mog a question, I answer as myself.
