Unfortunately my character is me, equally as socially inept in game as I am in real life. Sometimes I will think to myself out loud while in game.

The other day I found myself thinking, why does a person play this game? But I believe the answer is as simple as saying "why does a person live their life?" Even if the world appears artificial, the people we interact with are real, the time we spend in this world can never be reclaimed. Those things are very real...

Also when we stop playing, we have nothing left of the world besides perhaps memories. When you wake up from a dream, you have nothing left of that dream. When you die you have nothing left of what we call life. Is one reality really more real than another? Knowing that at the end of life, you will have nothing, yet people keep living. Knowing that at the end of the game you'll have nothing, but people will keep playing. It's rather interesting, when we rush to devour new content will we cry out to god that it wasn't enough. I don't know many people that rush towards the end of their lives. /endrant
