Power Supply Blew last night :(

I bought a nice gaming rig 6 months ago and last night while playing far cry 3 it made a loud Bang and my lovely pc died

1 day before the Beta! I have been counting down the days to beta, what horrible luck!

The pc has a 1 year guarantee so I am sure they will post me a new power supply but thats gonna take at least a weak...

Either that or i go into London today and just buy a new power supply for about £60 cause I am very impatient and really really really wanna play the beta today/tomorrow whenever it comes out lol.

Anyways just thought id share my sorrows with you guys :P

    Ouch! I'm sorry to hear.

    I would recommend Corsair PSUs.

completely agree with this gent here. i have been using my corsair 750 for over 4 years now and it's in its second build i've done. i wasn't going to replace the power supply that was still running flawlessly so i bought a lower end psu for the old one and sold it off for almost what i had in the full thing lmao.

just make sure you get a psu that's compatible with your setup.

edit: adding an idea. i'd probably go buy a corsair psu to use in my comp and return the psu that came with the comp to get it replaced. use the corsair and you'll always have a backup in case it went down. the factory psu will be a huge downgrade from the corsair if something did happen to it, but it would be better than having nothing until you could replace/return it.

This. I've been using their Enthusiast Series for years, and they're great.

I've got a Corsair one and it's been working wonderfully for 3 years so far. ^^

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

Yeah if it was bought whole, the PSU they had and the new one they may give may be sub par in the first place. Without knowing the model, hard to say, but if it is, buying a decent one is my recommendation.

Corsair is over rated..and they've fallen on reputability on their budget PSU products. There's Seasonic, Antec, Silverstone, , PC Power & Cooling, Thermatake, great OEMs.

Corsair also buys from Channel Well (CWT) for some of the PSUs too.
