I don't recall Cait Sith being related to SMNs as they only really released the Artwork and nothing more about it xD. Even in FFXI she was related more towards something deeper than just being a pet.

Since Gilgamesh is lost in the FF multiverse, Cait Sith being related to Time & Space (XI) makes perfect sense for them to be a duo if anything.

I freakin hope it has nothing to do with summoner! That would be super retarded if out of all the awesome summons from past games or potential beasts they could draw from they choose cait sith to summon. It's not going to happen but I can't think of anything more annoying.

OP I don't see the difference at all? Aside from the fact that the one in the second image has the cloak wrapped as a scarf.
In fact only other difference I see is that one has the angry stretched tail thing that cats do.
