It's not an 'SE can do no wrong' attitude, the frame rate is taking a hit because hi, it's not fully optimized.

Again, you're no expert and you're kicking your toys out of the pram. If you don't like FFXIV on PS3 then don't play it, enough said, but wait til beta phase 3 rolls around before gracing us with your oh-so-enlightening judgments.

I just finished watching the "Tour of Eorzea" video. They should really consider scrapping the PS3 version.

There was so much screen tearing and the frame rate was plain horrible. "We're bringing in the guys from Sony" doesn't give me much hope.

If they try to actually sell that for money, it will just piss even more fans off.

Who else agrees they should give up on the PS3 version? Release ARR for PC and perhaps consider a future PS4 release.

Watching a video of video playback does not give you an accurate repesntation of the game's performance on the console. You're also massively exaggerating on how severe of an issue it is, especialyl suggesting that they wouldn't be able to "sell it for money."

I don't want a console version of any MMO for reasons other than what is described here, but you are leaping to conclusions here and your logic is just plain bad.

Yes, because we saw the EXACT same change in the optimization of the PC version. The Windows videos that we saw a while back suffered from the exact same issues that we just saw with the PS3 version, and they have been corrected through the optimization.

Seeing the PS3 version in its current state does worry me a bit, luckily for me I will be mainly playing on the PC. How ever they still are optimizing the game, so hopefully it gets polished off. But in general many ps3 games I played in the past like white knight chronicles, (very good game) I do get some screen tearing, again that could be because of my TV, or perhaps the vram on the ps3 is just too low, I don't know but most ps3 games I play I notice some screen tearing.

After playing ff11 for years on a pc, I tried on the ps2 once, I recall doing faf HNM on the ps2, and after that experience I would never play on the ps2 again, I could not even see the HNM on my ps2 screen as there was so many people in the area that the graphics card on the ps2 could not process all that info. I hope ARR on the ps3 does not suffer from the same fate, but only time will tell I guess.

I'm surprised people are so optimistic about it. in other forums the reaction towards the PS3 footage is /disgusted.

i'm surprised you're too self-involved to understand that they'd more than double their japanese subs by having a console version available, and since this isn't JUST a game for westerners, they're going to tap into that market. furthermore, ps3 version was promised years ago and never delivered. it's an honor thing to make good on that promise now to regain the trust of the players. waiting another 1-2 years to just port it to PS4 isn't an option.

and stop trying to make denotative statements about something you're clearly not an expert on. that alone is probably why people are attacking you.
