    Pets. We have to talk about it.

    Okay, we are all aware of the fact that we'll be able to have a large amount of different pets. Maybe some are ultra rare, rare, uncommon, and common. Who knows?

    I have a request to the devs, and maybe some of you will agree, and if you do please click that like button.
    • Can some pets warn us of potential danger? Like in PvP situations. It can detect a nearby enemy player in Frontlines PvP, and it will give us a warning.

    • Or even notify us if someone nearby is K.O'd and need a raise.

    • How about notifying us if there is a treasure box nearby.


    Post what you think about this, and if you want leave some ideas.

    I don't really want it to have anything to do with combat (or pvp). In fact, I hope they are disabled in dungeons/fate/pvp. (I have nothing against the pets, I just don't think they belong there)

    BUT I have to admit it would be pretty cool if, when you were out and about, they detected dead players and automatically drifted over to them and were like "! Hey, look -nudge nudge nudge-".

    As long as they are disabled in instanced content and are reserved for open world. Just don't want clutter on screen. Full party & everyone having a pet. . . . too much. Especially when they give us those errr. . . . 20 people dungeons was it? Forgot the actual number for large scale instances they talked about.

    Either way, I'm perfectly fine even if they don't do anything and just follow you around (though I secretly hope they'll have more use tied to housing in some way).

    Well with pets they could easily add a function for other users to "disable pet visuals" so for those that don't want to see the pets they don't have to, but for players who perhaps always want a pet by their side there is nothing wrong with that.

    Rather than thinking of things from a personal perspective of just one option, it would be better to think of it in terms of how it could be granted in a way to give people the choice between being able to see the pets or not.

    Honestly in terms of pvp I wouldn't mind if pets were giving a pvp role, maybe even basic things like certain pets offered defense against certain elements or weapon type dmg. Or certain pets allowed access to special abiltiies or skills, granted it would take a but of balancing to make sure things would work out fairly but also in a manner where there were no pets with special abilities that could be purchased with cash lol.

    Though that comes with time, as it stands no pets as they are now is fine, but later on if they did decide to do more with pets I"d be interested to see where they would take the direction of pets.

    Although I'd really be interested to see these vanity pets actually have something (maybe then allow them in dungeons because they are helping you..).

    Perhaps each pet unlocks a quirk and once unlocked you can move quirks to whichever pet you want (no pressure for all mages to have the same looking pet even though they are using the same bonus).

    Like a 40% longer food duration, and whenever you have food/drink activated your little pet is running around with a cup in their hands or on their head or something lol. Just like that image where the bomb was holding Yoshi's coffee and then the piggy was holding a secondary weapon.

    I dont mind pets. As long as they dont give stat bonuses like in some generic f2p MMOs. The only way pets are ok to give stat bonuses is if there is a class mechanic that is based around summoning / capturing beasts.

    Which I think is for the best for the most part, but the OP hit on a few really cool ideas here.

    I think this would be great for something like a Snurble pet. Fits fairly well with the mob behavior, doesn't really give a huge advantage in any content, and gives it a bit more character. Not all available minions need to have traits such as this, but it'd be cool if there were a few that did for kicks. So long as they were careful in what was implemented.
