On legacy character. Not a legacy moan!

So the legacy characters as I have heard can only start on select servers? This kinda sucks for me as I want my character in ARR to be my 1.0 character but everyone I know is starting fresh.. Is there no way A legacy character can go onto a fresh server? Or my event and 1.0 goobbue and event items be tied to account? To me it seems legacy characters will be on a lower pop server if the popular choice is a fresh start.. I know the main reason is economy based so could you not make it so any items that are tradeable will be deleted on moving to a fresh server? and all gill save a few starter cash removed? weapons and armour made character bound? This would give no economic advantage to legacy characters only a advantage on high level stuff.. which will not take long for new powerlever groups to get to...

All 1.0 not only legacy are not allow to enter in a fresh world. The fresh world is for level 1 char you could easy make a level 1 char and enter the world with the 8 slots you have with legacy. If you don't have legacy you have to pay 14.99$ for 8slots if you want.

But yes you lose anything to do with goobbue or armour and such it's a world for players who did not play 1.0 or people that play 1.0 and just want to start over from level 1. Everyone would be level 1 so it great for starting players so they can start there own economy/community without all of 1.0 rich people messing up there economy. It great for them so they can also have a lot of level 1 people to play with and enjoy the game.

If you want to you can make a char there but your 1.0 char wont be allow to enter. I think they said the worlds would be open for us once the economy and the players have enough time to sit and build. Which could easy take months or maybe years for they end up opening it. But everyone starting new can pick a fresh world or world that 1.0 can pick.

Well just because we cant take our character to their server, does not mean they cannot start a character on ours.
Besides there should be more than enough 1.0 chars to fill the worlds up.
And if not chances are we will have the popular server names which people will probably want to start on.

You don't really have to start again i think that would be sad to lose everything you done. Starting on the new worlds it would take time before there enough level 50s to even do content or wait a while before you see good guilds being made that can get done with content. While the 1.0 worlds they be new and old players and good guilds that know what there doing. I don't see any reason to start over you get a race/name change and you can pick a world in NA,EU,JP if you like and they be content finder so if you play at late hours it would make a party with you with other people in other worlds who also play late.

So really there no reason to start over not if you really want to start over and be with loads of level 1 and such.

ya i agree there no point in switching to a new world not if you really want to be with level 1 all day and such. They be loads of new people i think that would pick 1.0 worlds vs the starting worlds.

People forget how many pros there are to joining an existing server: Your friends benefit more from joining you on your 'established' server than you gain from joining them on the 'new' one.

When I started version 1.0 at CE release, we were all new to the server. So a trip back memory lane...

When we were ALL ranks 1-20:
We all walked around in broken weathered gear because it was hard to find a craftsman to fix it/noobness meant we didn't know about repair npc.
Your first equipment upgrade into a hempen doublet would cost you on ave. 500K...which you didn't have. But since so few were made crafters could have a field day.
Level 20+characters were still running around in crap.
If you were trying to craft your own gears, mats were hard to find, because there were very few DOH's leveled high enough to get them. And those that were leveling it were again, charging a premium
EVERYONE was learning the game...so while people did help each other out, we were all Noobs. You couldn't just /l 'hey guys where do I go for quest x or find flax' and get a straight answer.

This isn't even including all the 'I know no one stuff' we dealt with...or the horrible sp system/UI etc.

What New players of 2.0 will get:
Veteran Players who know where stuff is/overfill markets with mats
Veteran Players who will help new ls mates out with gears/quests etc.
Newer players who will craft low level gear out of the low level mats we have in abundance on our markets
Newer players to exp with AND veterans who are ranking the 'new' classes (pretty sure new mage class+dow will come out around 2.0 release)
Veteran Players that can help them kill little NM's, and do quest that are very difficult/require a full party at 35, but can easily be duoed by a rank 35+50.

As others have said, if you really want to be level 1 to see the game from fresh eyes, you can always re-roll. But if keeping your character is important to you, especially if you wish to help your friends, having them join you on an established server is proably the better choice. The amount of vets even on an established server will be fairly small in proportion to the newer peoples...especially as time goes on. The gears and bankroll you have alone are helpful to getting your friends started.
