There needs to be more incentive to go Gridania and Limsa Lominsa

As it is now, 70-80% of the population on my server(and from what i've read, most other servers) lurks around Ul'dah and the surrounding areas.

The reason I see is because the Weaver's guild is in Ul'dah. That results in a majority of the other crafters following them to keep their gear repaired. Then, various DoWs and DoMs follow. Eventually, Ul'dah is the place to be for anything. Even the leves are better than anywhere else, considering various R30s and R40s give up to 30k skill points if linked. Not to mention its the shortest walk between each camp, whereas in Gridania, each camp is twice as far as anywhere else.

Geographically, it's also the center of the world, so I suppose it makes sense that people converge on it. While this might be awesome for some people, it gimps the rest of the economy. New players tend to gain a bad impression of the entire game because there are only 5 Leatherworks and a Carpenter in Grid, and no one in LL talks while they're botting ARM and BSM. The market wards are for the most party empty because everyone sells their wares in Ul'dah.

This needs to be fixed somehow. People won't do anything without incentive.

The problem is that Uldah is placed in between Limsa and Gridania. It should be equal distances between all three cities.

People do go the other other cities, it just depends on why

people who do alot more BS/AS go to LL for the guild support(which you cant get in uldah)
add in alot of level 30s like to go to cedarwood, which results in people in LL

Harvesters end up in gridania moreso since the drops are better out there by far for mining and botony
Heavy LW/carps for same reason since their guild is there for better support

I find the monsters in gridania are stronger than the other two zones, I would actually consider nerfing some of the mobs in the leves, and in the world map of gridania, as well as adding a ferry from gridania to lisma that way the distance problem is solved.

There's no body of water between them. Gridania is completely landlocked.

It would be very hard to add a ferry from Gridania to Limsa. While it's actually not completely landlocked, they would have to go around the bottom portion of the continent to get there.

Honestly though once Ishgard opens up I can see Ul'dah thinning out quite a bit. Now one of two things can happen for Limsa depending on what they do. If there is a ferry from Limsa to somewhere in Coerthas (possible) then it will become more populated. If they do not then it will be considered the opposite end of the world and will become a ghost town.

As far as Gridania is concerned, I can see a lot more traffic there once Ishgard opens up.

How about some NPCs that don't have the damn ! over their heads that would give quests with CUTSCENES and better story?

The way these things are implemented in the game is an insult to any player's intelligence.

    Random post? lol

The thing is, all the storylines end up in Ul'Dah. For me, that's when I settled down there. This doesn't help. But Im sure that when the storyline expands to maybe Ishgard, the focus will change.
