It has been agreed upon that a troll post would be someone making a thread saying, "FFXIV Sucks" without offering any sort of solution to any problem. I believe that you could prove your point much more if you would elaborate your position a little bit. It would add something meaningful to the discussion instead of what comes off as a double-standard.

The argument Nyrumi made was that Summoner should be in every FF game, yet was not even in the first FF game to begin with.

First off, that last line (↑) would be good sig for you - but just shorten it to /insanity

On Summoners: Bahamut actually was in the first FF game -- though not as a summon. But still it predates the first appearance of Chocobos (FFII), which I'm sure you would oppose in FFXIV as a matter of consistency, amiright?

I am in favor of the addition of chocobos that cost large amounts of gil to rent (even more to buy and raise)

Just to make it more clear: the poster Zantetsuken dug up an OLD post of mine from a thread completely unrelated to the thread this was in (summoners). I made sure to retain all the see-post links so you can see for yourself.

I had to bring this up here, because it's a prime example of what the OP is talking about. I can't see how a single statement in any of my posts was meant to offend anyone, and somehow merit being a troll. The "insanity stops here" comment was about the closest you could get, and that was taken out of context.

It is truly my own personal opinion that chocobos should cost gil to rent/own. How does that statement make me a troll?

About the same, actually. Granted, it's been a few months since I've been there, but the last time I there it was about the same, and maybe even slightly less inflammatory, to be honest.

There needs to be a bit more give and take in the community.

There are a lot of strong personalities on these forums, and more often than not, it is these same vocal few who like to make themselves heard (no names).

Bottom line, its ok to have a different opinions! The world would be incredibly boring if we all shared the same ideals owned identical outlooks in life. We ALL want the game to improve and be a success (we wouldn't be here otherwise), but the FFXIV community needs to pave the road.

I agree with the OP. I made a one sentence post the other day about how I thought the updates were slow and lackluster, and about 5 people wrote me several paragraphs on how flawed of a troll I am and that I should quit FFXIV. I repeat, I wrote one sentence on how I personally felt.

Its not that they are voicing what they dislike about XIV. Its how.

I agree - as long as that's applied to both sides. I've seen people get pounced for respectfully expressing their opinion negatively. "It's how" needs to be applied to both sides if we are to truly grow. Sentences like this implying it's only the people with negative opinions voicing opinions poorly further serves to polarize and divide the community.

No one is a troll on this forum. Everyone here cares about this game and purchased the game because they took interest in it. The troublemakers are just the most caring of all of them. The ones who really don't care have never even registered on here. Take that into account when you are evaluating a "troll".
