This blog/article seems, to quote the write, "half-assed". I had to stop reading after she used that word. It seems to me this article was more of a GW2 vs. FFXIV ARR, rather than a open minded impression.

Honestly they SHOULD take the article down. It was written with hate and confusion already decided upon. She basically says "Since I can figure out how to play it and it's not enough like Guild Wars 2, you shouldn't even try it." It's a poorly researched, lazy, hate spouting, poorly formatted mess of an article... And to think, this chick has won AWARDS for her writing. Guess I know my new career path. Seems too easy.

I'm confused how a journalistic reviewer can honestly compare a finished game, that being Guild Wars 2 against a game that's still being worked on and streamlined. /boggle

With this type of article, yes it is going to make it's way back to the fan base forums and there's going to be a lot of fallout from die hard fans. I think I speak for most of us that we feel personally attacked by this article and it's general attitude it conveys toward the hard work and dedication that has been poured into this project.

The reason we're so raw about it is that we want this game to succeed and articles like the one above don't in any way help that cause. This was written and based on alpha/beta content for which all participants are under NDA to avoid things like this making it into the hands of potential future players. Doom it to fail before it even begins in the eyes of the masses and people will not even give it a second thought. Words are a powerful force used to build or destroy reputations.

Open beta starts in phase 4 of the testing process and lasts for 1 or 2 weeks. I invite anyone that has their doubts brought on by this article to try it for themselves before you make a final judgement.
