ie: typical G4TV audience
Nvm..........
Well everyone will have their opinion. (Mine is I can't stand playing GW2 personally) but all we can do is encourage them to sign up for beta, let them test it themselves and then they will have their foot in their mouths (assuming arr is awesome, which I am hopeful it will be)
And here I thought having a blog meant you had to have something akin to an expansive vocabulary and at least some understanding on how to write things. >.>;;;
The tone of the "article" could have been different. Less comparisons to GW2 would have also helped. It's one thing to present examples from another game to argue a point on forums. It's another when an article keeps referencing something else when said article doesn't have much to do with it.

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Unfortunately that's not a simple blog, but an actually popular website curated by supposedly professional journalists.
I loved GW. GW2 was ok, but honestly I am bored with it and enjoy the first one better. O.o I could never choose GW over FFXIV though. This article is pathetic. She does not have enough experience with this game to write an effective review. Of course... she doesn't seem to have the vocabulary either. o.O Who hires these people!?!

Well, it's an editorial. If she were objective enough to write reviews then that's what she would be doing.
Regardless of whether it's an opinion article or a review though, it remains a distinctly shallow analysis of a game that's still months away from release. It focuses on pinpointing the negative aspects and makes no more than a passing mention to the positive aspects (oh, and there's a job system, graphics, battle system and storyline, but meh)
Clearly, she disliked the game. She's allowed to. However, some of the points she made were utterly ridiculous. Omg I can't open a map and look for the name of a place written on it, such hard work!
We'll take it into consideration.™
After reading that article, its all the more reason as to why I don't take reviews of games seriously. The only opinion that should matter is your own on whether or not you like the game or not. I tried GW2 with a few friends for awhile, probably close to a month or more, but even then that alone didn't help keep me from dropping it. To me, GW2 was just too boring and the lack of roles didn't help either since none of the classes felt different to me not to mention other things but I won't get into that.
I went back to 1.0 shortly afterwards since it was able to keep my interest even if it was lacking in some departments at that time. In the end it really comes down to the player themselves in deciding what to play that tickles their fancy.
