it feels like I'm sort of arguing with a brick wall here anyway. (I'm also being teamed up on by several people which doesn't help haha)

to get back to my original point, I don't think you guys should get so angry that one person didn't like the game. it's clearly marked as an opinion article.

Personally, I'm not "angry" that one person didn't like the game. Plenty people don't like the game. I'm appalled (that isn't the same thing as angry), by the poor journalism that permeates that article to the point of making factually false points and using hyperbolic, flamebaitish and disrespectful terminology, and as such I criticize it.

There are other fairly negative articles out there, but at least they're written with a shred of respect for the people working on this game, and the writers did their best at the very least to get their facts right. And that's plenty ok.

There's a big difference between stating a negative opinion and misrepresenting and mocking a game, doing a disservice to one's readers.

If I was like Ben Kuchera, that you're defending, I'd just respond "Haha, you're the dude that made an account just to come here and make a nonsensical thread stating that they should scrap the PS3 version, you're a waste of my time" (which is pretty much exactly what he told us). Luckily I'm not like that, and I value discussion, so I take my time to respond to your points.

Here's one: "Copying this design from Guild Wars 2 isn’t a crime in and of itself" They got inspiration for it from Warhammer, same place GW2 did. Yoshi even stated this in another interview.

Also, yes, calling something half-assed is disrespectful to the devs, period.

Factually false. The design hasn't been copied from GW2. It's a well known fact openly explained by the developer.

What's your idea of reality? She didn't just give "negative feedback", she openly mocked the game and the development team with derogatory terms like "half assed", "pain in the ass" and such, without even counting making a mockery of the game's title and the factually false reporting.

My idea of reality is one where journalists are held by something called professional integrity. And in that article I didn't see much of it.

No, you just choose to see it that way. Abriel isn't attacking the criticizing at all. He's attacking how she's presenting false information, and using terminology that outright disrespects the devs. And if you think this environment is against criticism, I suggest you read the comments on that article as well.

Yeah, my response video to this person's "article" is already rendering. I see at least one person who rushed here to try to defend what that woman wrote. (Ben? Is that you?) But rather than argue about it, I'm just going to give my own thoughts on why it was really not well written at all. It will be almost an hour long, btw. Yeah, there are that many things I found wrong with it. lol
