    Adding new races in a later expansion for a game that is designed around the idea of not restarting your character seems like a wasteful idea to me.

    Personally I'd rather see the resources used on enhancing the current races more for the next expansion (more animations,emotes,hair designs etc) and resources designing new armor and such for the current races rather than having to spend the time and memory resources designing current armor sets for a new race.

    I completely agree. I've never understood the allure of new races anyway. It makes even less sense to have an alternate character in XIV considering you're going to get all the classes/jobs on one character anyway. A new race is counter intuitive to the whole process.

    I would much rather have an extension of my own character than see another race go into it.

    The only solution to this is if they eventually allow for paid or non paid race changes (which I'd support).
