Bring back Chocobos and Airships and fuck teleportation.
Bring back Chocobos and Airships and fuck teleportation.
The system is still fairly limited, and does not take you everywhere. While Outposts couldn't take you anywhere you wanted, there was no limitation as to how much you could use the feature. It all evens out in the end.
The more they take you across the continent in the coming months and years, the more you'll start feeling the limitations of the anima. Of course when right now you don't really have to leave Thanalan, it seems like there is no need for chocobos and airships. That's an illusion.
I would settle with Dodobos, they're big enough now to ride![]()
I know that my proposal is basically the same thing as teleportation, but with a different method. But what I think it really boils down to is looking at it like this:The system is still fairly limited, and does not take you everywhere. While Outposts couldn't take you anywhere you wanted, there was no limitation as to how much you could use the feature. It all evens out in the end.

Chocobos: Can only be implemented in a Final Fantasy game.
Anima & Teleportation: Seems like a pretty general aspect and would work in pretty much any other game.
It's the Final Fantasy 'feel' that I and many others want, whether it really makes the feature better or whether it's basically the same thing with different means of getting around. The teleportation system that is in place works fine, it's a nice system, don't get me wrong. BUT, with this system in place, we don't really need chocobos & airships, and I don't want to say that at all, because it tears away some main roots of the FF series.
The original jobs were probably the biggest structural component of the original series and they already took that away from us. I'm still hoping they come back eventually, too.
Edit:
I wanna add that of course they should limit you on where you can go, still keeping it as having to have visited a camp first before you can ride a chocobo to that place again. That makes sense.

Chocobo's definately need to be added, and more so in the way of taming and raising them. For this job alone it needs to be its own class^^ Not sure what the best class name would be but would be great to have to rank up for new speeds and access to stronger saddles(equipment for you and choco) or something of the like. The first few ranks would introduce a "Tame" ability which would be class specific and used to capture your chocobo of choosing^^( from battles or ones just wandering around with rare nm ones popping here and there?!)
Since FF's system allows for cross class skills one would have to be "Call Chocobo" which would act like the choco whistle in FF 11 and call your individualized chocobo for you to ride no matter the job you're onSo many things you can do with this idea, just something I thought I'd throw out there! Next to the obviously missing summoner class I think this would also go a long way to make this game feel more FF^^ Gotta have chocobo's and summoners hehe <3
But I just explained to you why this isn't the case at all...
I mean, outpost warps aren't "Final Fantasy-ish" either but damn, we are stretching the definition of the term in the first place here. The game doesn't have to be filled with familiar structures, that's also something not common to the franchise. Chocobos are there, crystals are there, summons are there, classic jobs will soon be there, monsters are big, there is a world map and cities.. They don't need to take it to the extreme.
Hmmm why not here? like come on, Eorzea suposed to be more advanced than old Vana'Diel if comparin FFXI to XIV, so why have to ride Chocos and not robots, also we saw on videos air fights riding those flying things, so why cant we have mechas, im not askin exactly to put the magiteks, but yeah some mechanic things instead , they also said they would use chocobo on other ways than transportation... so why not mechas, since there are animas, it gives also mechas more stuff to be used than only for transportation?
Edit:
Also, this is final fantasy, i know chocobos have been always the traditional method of transportations but is that much like to not give space to new methods, give a break to the poor birds D:<

I don't think it would be taking it to the extreme. It's only one aspect. And it would definitely be interesting to FF fans. Also, I don't think having one chocobo standing in each of the three cities, serving no purpose counts as having chocobos in the game. We don't have summons, classic jobs "may" come soon, and big monsters, a world map, and cities aren't really related to FF, but to many games in general. So that leaves us with crystals, which isn't a bad start, I suppose. But I just explained to you why this isn't the case at all...
