Its not like Fishing in 1.0 took any real skill either.... after catching about 200 fish the "mini-game" was pretty dry for me, so personally I think speeding up the process of catching fish by getting rid of that is a +
Again this is my opinion, not saying any of your opinions are wrong.

I'm in no way raging... though i can predict that if fishing is simply click and instant fish. Which from what was written seems to be describing i'm not convinced i will be fishing in 2.0
From what was said in the articles i was hoping that fishing might atleast become a fun minigame more for fun sake but it sounds like you won't even be fighting the fish to catch it =( i hope i'm wrong.

I really cant wrap my my mind around, how fishing is such an important aspect to the game, for some...
We don't even know how fishing is gonna work, so why should we complain about it now?
There's not gonna be any fishing vids from beta, since there's no fisher guild in Gridania. So unless devs release some video from their version, showing how it works, you'll just have to wait and see.

Its a past time, heres an example. SE announces chocobo racing, you have no control in the actual racing you just watch as the chocobo run to the finish line. Edit: We/I want to see something more fun come out of fishing than just have it automated.I really cant wrap my my mind around, how fishing is such an important aspect to the game, for some...

Except chocobo racing is a bit more exciting. it's a competition where you can win good stuff; Well it depends on what game you're referring to; In FF7 you could control the chocobo to some extent. In other games it was mostly really boring gamble.
Even in 1.0 fishing was just a matter of going to a specific spot, and gather specific fish; with a tedious mini-game involved.

The more I think about it, the more I feel myself swelling with unfounded optimism.
It's not being implemented until B3 because it's not finished yet, not because there's nothing to test! It's just going to be centred around Limsa, that's all.
Centred around Limsa... Means... THE SEA.
So I'm *sure* a group of 4-8 FSH will sign up for the fishing minigame, wherein they embark upon an ocean-trawler, head out into a 30 minute instance out at Indigo Deep, where they have to work together to keep control of the boat in stormy seas, avoid (or fight!) Sahagin, drop their nets (yes, NETS! none of this fishing-pole crap) and even go diving for treasure (though water-based movement will come in the third patch, not at launch) until the time is up, at which point they haul in their vast catch and head back to the Guild for huge XP and gil rewards, with a chance of extra treasures being caught up in the wash.

:P Maybe you should be leading the charge. I've been wanting my own little sailboat for fishing in XIV for ages now.The more I think about it, the more I feel myself swelling with unfounded optimism.
