I wonder what they mean by they're trying to minimize focus on the "value" of individual fish. I hope at least they're still tied to recipes, and it's not just "Hey guys, I totally just caught a 32cm crawfish!" *clicks discard to free up the inventory slot*

Really disappointing news. It was a GATHERING CLASS. You can't just take that back and say "oh well now it's about the experience of bonding with nature. The point was to GATHER ITEMS to MAKE GIL.

Not every fish needs to be a bank breaker. Ash branches don't sell for millions on Botanist. That's fine. That's not what we're asking for. SOME fish need to be rare and valuable. OR be used in rare and valuable recipes.

You can't just say "you're a gathering job, but you don't gather anything that makes real money."

From what he did say, it does sound like they are making it into more of a mini-game.

It was patchy but the main, and only, emphasis seemed to be on fighting RMTs...I didnt hear anything new about FSH at all...

They still told us nothing about how Fishing will really work! And wtf, why design a class for the express purpose of being not RMT friendly?? AAAARGH!!! So... Confirmed? Fisher = Useless hobby class?

It annoys me, when I remember the 32 or so RMT that would always be standing around Cedarwood in 1.0 doing leves, that SE seems to be nuking Fisher pre-emptively for a mostly non-existent RMT threat, when I literally could have pointed them to 32 guildleve RMT to which they are obviously completely blind.

I might actually get the address for SE Corporate Headquarters, and mail them a menu from Red Lobster, so the development team can learn that fish are actually valuable items that are highly sought on the market. -____-;

It's funny, because I'm not even that angry. I'm disappointed and insulted that they would do something this absolutely, mind-bogglingly stupid, but I can't be angry anymore. I'll wait until... gods, whenever fishing gets implemented (maybe after launch? Gods know) to pass absolute judgment, but so far it looks like I'm out. I will not support someone who makes decisions this idiotic.
