That's rude as hell. Expecting everyone to partake in every aspect of the game is naive and not reflective of the typical MMO experience. There should reasonably be enough to do for most players with a couple of different lines of interest. The game is not there yet in that respect. Adding a "=)" at the end of a post also does not make it less disrespectful.

Thats just retarded you can get to rank 2 of any of the 6~ battle classes and see what the game has to offer why do u think its doing so poorly?

I see you have a few high ranks good for u, make you feel good? to have video game power lol, thats fine for some thats extremely important for me not so much so.

No MMORPG has lots of content at release and no MMORPG has lots of content for a level 20 ... like you can do so much in WoW at low levels ... or FFXI ... or EQ2 ... or any MMORPG. Seriously.

I think your point is mostly valid, but I don't think implying that everyone should level every job to the level cap before they could complain about content (that they like or enjoy) was appropriate for many reasons I think are apparent. There was a fair bit (maybe not a ton) of content in lower level ranges of those MMO's you listed, certainly more that FFXIV at the moment.

Are you seriously trying to defend the game like it has content? Side quests? They take a day or two at most. 20, 30, 36 class quests? Run around back and forth from point A to point B. Main storyline? Might as well just click on a movie clip because that's about as much interaction you really have with it. NM's? Five NM's with loot only half the classes can use.

EQ2 had multiple dungeons, a main storyline raid dungeon arc. Rifts has multiple dungeons, raid zones. Even games like AoC and Warhammer had more content. This game came out as a bare bones template, to say anything otherwise is just putting the blinders on.

UMM not really considering most of it was completely flawed since Alpha and there was pretty much nothing that was fun about combat at all. I'd rather have combat and other things fixed before they get started on content. If they get the battle system out of the way, they can focus on other tasks.

Its a tough balancing act when you make a new edition to a multi-million dollar franchise like Final Fantasy. On one hand, you want to dazzle the players with something new, on the other, you don't want to disappoint your fanbase by departing too much from the formula that got you to where you are. These difficulties are exponentially compounded when you have the added weight of making an MMO. The job is in no way enviable, and I wish Yoshida-san the best of luck.

It is exactly how I feel about this. Tanaka mentioned in one of his interviews, that he wanted to create, perfect mmo.

Shikyo, I expect it to start within the next 3 months. It is hard to guess when they will be finished with the complete overhaul. I expect it to be late 2011 or early 2012. Just a guess, not based on any facts.

The good thing is they are working on all this stuff. I seriously can not believe we have people here thinking that the developers are sitting on their hands doing nothing. If that was the case they would have pulled the plug a long time ago. Why would they keep the servers up for free. Even after the whole disaster that hit Japan they tried to get the servers up as soon as possible. How can anyone that is reasonable believe they are not working as hard as they can to get this game back on track. I really can not understand that.

It is taking long, maybe too long, but I can not blame them. The game was a mess and from what I understand the code is a mess too. Developing is a long process, it takes time, it involves lots of people. We are getting small updates for now, but I am sure we will get something big within the next 6-8 weeks. Considering the new team took over in January I personally give them until June to come up with some big changes and then until the end of 2011 to finish the process of changing the game and start developing some new content.

Just my two cents. Meanwhile I will chill, keep playing and doing leves and contribute to the forums and community in the best way I can, instead of cry like some people love to do.
