I wanted to update and let folks know that a new column posted today at MMORPG for FFXIV:ARR. Someone linked one of the previous EorzeaReborn columns here at the forums and we had very positive reviews from it -- so I thought I would follow up on it.
Ryahl (my husband) is writing the FFXIV column at MMORPG.com. The new editorials are:
Edit Feb 20: Just wanted to post to this and let folks know the new MMORPG.com column will be coming soon. Ryahl already has the two companion pieces up for the upcoming article. The MMORPG piece will be specifically about FFXIV, while the companion pieces are more about MMOs in general.
They can be found here:
Of Hammers and Scales - Crafting and Economics in MMOs
Too Similar and Too Many - commodity and saturation problems with gear in MMO’s
As before, Ry welcomes any comments here--or on the site. There is a really interesting discussion going on after the Economics article, with a number of comments from Raph Koster (from SWG/UO) about those games specifically.
In Anticipation of Beta (@MMORPG)
as well as its companion pieces (@EorzeaReborn.com):
What have we Lost to Solo Play
and
Enough with the (Solo) Quest Hubs.
Today is Ry's busy day at work, so he asked me to go in and post these. He'll check back later today and see if anyone has any comments or feedback. He's always welcome to thoughts about this column, any of the others, or thoughts on future columns.
Thanks for reading!
