And a little more humble pie would be even better. Things happen, people go through shit, etc. etc. etc. This applies to everything, including limited time promotions. I'm not trying to demean anyone's reason for missing out on Legacy, but they missed out for whatever reason and that's that. If an extension into Legacy status is made for a few people now, there are going to be at least 15 people that miss out on this one that ARE going to complain. When does it end? When we've extended it to everyone and thus removed any value to it in the first place?

I also paid out the green for the collector's edition. I also built a new PC for the game back in 2010 before it released, and regretted that decision for almost a year and a half! Can I bitch to SE about that and demand a refund for all of that, including the months I paid in FFXIV, and hell why not FFXI, too? No, because ultimately that was my decision, and the gamble didn't pan out; Whatever.

Besides, I think you guys are forgetting that the one thing you all want that Legacy gets(which strangely isn't the discount) is access to a beta. A BETA. It's going to be buggy, run on very short schedules, and you're expected to post feedback and what is essentially work(while admittedly having fun). Not only that, but not only are you guaranteed to get in by phase 3, you STILL could get into phase 1 as it isn't strictly limited to legacy holders in the first place. This whole thing is just odd to me. Anyway, I don't think there's much else to add to this "debate", since it's pretty nonsensical in the first place.

It was a msg to some kids who think playing 1.2 for the last 4months gaining legacy status made them pro and that they earned it by paying a grand total of less than $50 bucks.
No one is saying give me legacy and it is not beta because yes there is more ways to enter than just legacy.
Its the in game content that people care about, the recognition its like not acknowledging the people who were here before The "on"

So you're assuming that all legacy members played for 4 months only? I'm sure the vast majority were there the whole time, playing from release til servers went down.

No one is saying give me Legacy? Yes they are, many people have said that, many others have said remove legacy completely.

If it's game content that you care about, then there's nothing for you to complain about, Legacy members won't get more/better content, outside of a chocobo skin, which after a few months, most will probably find something they like more.

And what is it you want recognition for, sure as hell isn't paying for the game. You want SE to say, "Thanks for playing our game for free for a year, here's more bonus stuff."? You bought a game, you played it, either enjoying it, or just killing some time, SE owe's you nothing, no recognition or content.

So, the legacy side of the argument is to blame for hostility? How many threads have you seen made called "HAHA I'm better than you because I'm legacy!"? compared to the number complaining that legacy isn't fair? Have you forgotten this is the internet? When a group of people, constantly make threads over the same damn subject, that neither group has control of, you're going to get a lot of people trolling.

I'm not even referencing your original post right here or the idea that some elitist kids are "talking smack" about being legacy. You haven't been around the internet long enough it seems. We live in the Xbox Live achievements era where slackjaws are even going to brag about their post counts on obscure internet forums. Don't let that shit get to you.

What I AM addressing(and your original post just happened to be in the general line of fire) is the idea that people, for whatever reason whether valid or not, missed Legacy qualification and are throwing tantrums about it. It sucks, and I'm sorry you missed it, especially for what seems to be a perfectly valid reason, but you did. Oh well. And you can go on and on about how you're just trying to point out that there could be plenty of valid reasons that people might have missed it, but your wording doesn't convince anyone that you're beyond frustration, especially the part where you talk about how much you've spent on the game in relation to others.

Terrible week. I almost had a heart attack when I got the email from SE. It was a notification that my thread was deleted. No option to contest the moderation. That thing in particular is what has made me the angriest, nevermind the beta.
