Server Merge Please

Oki im not sure this topic been up yet... but here goes
at this point fewer players are actually playing & i cant help thinking Server merge at
this stage would help in a few ways, saving power (due to recent events in japan),
and i for one dont mind the loss of my server name, like i said in another topic...
as long as i can be Noomy im ok with server merge.

So im asking to reduce the amount of servers for the time being to consume power, make the playing players join forces to keep the flow going until SE have managed
to fix whats out of order etc.

It's obvious to many that the game is falling right now, and the current active players suffering of this.

as said before they wont because then they have to open them all back again for ps3 release.

Probably a bad idea to do this, considering FFXIV might leap up from the ashes around the ps3 release. Dont want to have remove servers, just so they can make new ones in less than a year.

Doubt any of the ps3 release would have any effect on us now since its not even released.

I thought this was a bad idea too, but the OP made a good point about the power consumption.

I doubt that would make a huge difference, but I'm in no position to disagree yet.

Players are only playing around Guildleve reset so let's say they fix the game and it really fun? all the players who quit or just logging on for leves would be on for 3+hours. Then added the ps3 release to that a lot of players you would lag out just by being next to ppl doing leves. How many time this happen 3month ago when 3-4 party of 10+ members doing leves in one spot?

so i say no to this wait for later. but if they do it then i don't mind but right now they really don't need it

about the power thing did SE said that it only take 10% ish of there overall power? that noting vs what else they running in there.

I suggest we discuss alternative methods of populating the servers; not mergers.

I remember in CE and the first 2 weeks when it was hard to claim one mob in the starting area, and it was hard to get in behest a couple weeks later. I miss those days when people were all over the place and certain places were overcrowded. Can't wait for that again, but server merges would be bad. Even with the ps3 release, you still can't forget returning people from on the pc

I'd be for this to increase the server pops a little. When I play, things seem a little sparce population wise.

id say we dump everyone logged in but moving on a deserted server lol, less wasted bandwith for us that are actually moving
