I personally really enjoy the presence of lesser animals/monsters. They allow lower rank players to make some kills in some higher rank areas and, maybe eventually, they will be preys for bigger monsters/animals? That would be really nice to see and put more "life/personality" to the wildlife.

tl;dr I like the squirrels/rat/mouse and would like to see more of them.

I do agree that we need more unusual looking monsters though.
Puddings are only in dungeons, as I stated earleir in this thread. >_>

Blind post, still catching up, but I suspect that ther ebeing simular monsters all the way through till end while just adding more types, might be a consequence of the crafting system, at level 50 char you may still be needing low level items, especially cotton bolls and some other items.

In FFXI we fought bunnies, worms, bees, and crabs... so I don't really see the point.

They've introduced Goblins, and they've made it quite clear they are planning to introduce other beastmen in the content patches/possibly expansion. And as you get higher in level, more "monster" looking critters show up as well.

Talk about a silly thing to whine about.

I'm guessing we are going to see the badass mobs in the instanced areas. I feel overworld mobs should be of the zoo variety and dungeon mobs be the uber scary.

in xi you also leveled on monkeys, goobues, and caterpillars xD but I don't think its right to dismiss someone like that. He's got a valid point. In XI that always pissed me off that a rabbit could kill me

never heard of steampunk with magic. Unless you count as it being howels moving castle as steampunk. Or little Nemo and adventures in slumberland (omg i can't believe i remember that movie)
steampunk pretty much is a punk style fashion with alot of steam work industrial overtones hence the goggles and attier.

ps i want those i love steampunk. stuff. The sims 3 least for the 360 has steampunk furnishing. And fable 3 gots some steampunk overtones also. Like you can have a clockwork dog, there is a clockwork armor set. And you fight a clockwork robot. (ps this is on topic as op mentioned steampunk, i seen it be tossed around alot and wondering if ppl really knew about it)
