I wonder, how many FF games have you played, OP? Most of FF creatures are a take on "zoo animals", especially in the Amano era.

Look at even FFXI since its their other FF MMO, there's generally a scale of when we fight "bad ass monsters" and we're not exactly to that end yet.

I have played pretty much all (but the FF for the mobile phone)
the FF 1-14, ff tactic series, ff crystal chronicles, chocobo castle series, also the FF titles for GB, wanderswan and FF Mystic quest. (i have played the remakes too and also the FF title for iphone)

No FF title had that many squirrels.
There was always a good number of humanoid enemies in all FF titles.
