Whatever they decide to do they should announce specific details sooner rather than later. They have an existing playerbase that needs this information to make long term plans with others they played with (I think they should have released this info before bringing down servers and potentially cutting ties of communication for many people).

Has this been asked in the Live Letter thread? I would be very interested in knowing more information.

I asked this question for November's live letter (it was not answered) and have re-asked it for the upcoming letter~

How will our existing character first log in to ARR at launch (or Beta 4/Open Beta, if that is the case) - will we have to select a server or, will we arrive on our existing server? If we will have to select a server, will the server names be announced in advance?

I agree I think this issue is of utmost importance. It is what I want to know most of all.

For this reason, I think the best option is only to drop us on the server we were on just so we can reconnect and proceed from there. It is what I hope they do.
