Well....We got lalafell flu going around, a dhalmel with severe bone injuries, a couple of male hyurs with butthurtitus, a roegadyn with his head stuck in a honey jar, a miqo'te with restless tail syndrome, Yoshi-P level down syndrome, and another hyur with subligar burns.

Why did everyone decide to play ff14?

I personally wanted a new mmo and ff14 had always been a game that I wanted to get back to after 1.0 beta...

Well it's a bit of a story.

I was never into MP game such as MMO's, RTS's, FPS's etc. Either I couldn't afford subscription fees (MMO's) or they just didn't look like my kind of game(RTS's). But I had at one point wanted to play one MMO, FFXI. Being a fan of series. However, due to a lack of income, being too young to get a job. I could never buy it let alone pay for a sub. So I never played XI. And even when I got a job, the game had been out for years. I didn't think it would be worth going to play.

And then I saw that SE was making a new MMO, FFXIV. So I thought, "hey, I'll give that a shot" And so began my delve into my first* MMO.

*Unless you consider AQ Worlds an MMO grew up playing their stuff. because they were free and required no download.

So their you have it, thats how I ended up playing FFXIV. I played off and on. Playing between patches and such. The rest is history.

I played it because I was a longtime FFXI player. Unfortunately, FFXIV turned out to be the worst MMORPG I've ever played.

I was in love with the look of it to be honest. That and I was a FFXI player till the middle of WOTG and those mini quest lines. PUG groups at 75, along with no way to get income, for that content just drained my interest.

I went into the game with different mindset, no more slaving under the RDM, I wanted to hit crafting early and hard, kept playing because; well, I've played far more clunky RPG games than 1.0 at launch and found my enjoyment from them(I played Shin Megami Tensei 1 practically blind, and loved it by games' end).

Dunno if ARR will hold my interest as well, but I think that's a risk we all take with a new game.

Played FFXI for 4 years during the WoTG Era. Got to lvl 75 on PLD. Did about 80% of the game. Didn't get to do Dream Dynamis or White Gate stuff. Had an amazing time though. Why upgrade to FFXIV? Because I saw this: (link).

Uh, there's nothing pitiful about what I said. XIV is horrible compared to XI. So many terrible design flaws and bad gameplay mechanics
