Incidentally, I actually reached out to NCsoft yesterday to ask them what the hell is up with that, considering that they promised news for the new year, and then silence ensued.
That said, I trust Tencent more than NCsoft, even if they're a company from china with almost zero infrastructure in the west.
Goodness grief, looks like you were right. I just got another press release from Crytek basically stating "sorry, we were wrong!"

Doesn't mean it's not coming... but we're back to square one >_>

I don't know if I can limit it to just one PS2 RPG. I've enjoyed Wild Arms 4 and 5, Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis and Mana Khemia: Fall of Alchemy, Atelier Iris, Dragon Quest 8, Radiata Stories, Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Shadow Hearts: From the New World, .hack series, Growlancer Generations, and Rogue Galaxy. There are others, but you get the idea.
If I got my PS2 out and had to choose one to boot up today, April 22nd, it would be a toss up between Mana Khemia 2 - Fall of Alchemy and Wild Arms 5, although the answer could change tomorrow.
