XIV 1.0:

What will you miss most about 1.0? Honestly I'm not sure... I'll miss some of the people I met on Ragnarok, there was a really great group there but I'm looking for a place that's a little bit busier during my playtimes so that me and my husband can settle in nicely with some old friends

What did you disliked most about 1.0? Probably the lag! haha, that was killer some days but after I upgraded my system a bit it wasn't so noticeable. I felt like the game was a bit empty toward the end, I'd spend all my time crafting or just helping people to catch up and get their GC quests done before the end of 1.0 rolled around. I didn't feel captivated with the open zones, Thanalan was a dusty mess, La Noscea was just this mass of light green with the occasional puk and I felt that these zones could have been shown in a much better light, they just seemed so barren. I loved the shroud though... maybe I'm one of the few that did!

Best moment you had on 1.0? Too many to list! When I'd gotten my Pan of the Luminary I felt a great sense of accomplishment though even though it really was a grind and a half to obtain it. I think my first Ifrit kill was another defining moment, that was very exciting for me!

Someone you met in 1.0 that you will miss due to them going to a different server? There are a few! I miss Jerivah Sjoholt, Kaedi Latro and Dishy Bear... Snackpack too! There are so many people that I do miss and I can't possibly list them all... but if you're reading this please know that you are in my thoughts and I do wish you the very best!

Best place you went during your break from XIV? To my cabin in Coeur d'Alene. It's so lovely to get out of the bustle of the city ;;. Getting out on the lake is one of my most favorite things! It's peaceful enough so I can work on my writing without hindrance haha.

This I am not sure about There were many things I disliked in 1.0, like Dynamis but not because of the actual content, more how people abused things like the loot-list to ninja items from players. This happened to me a few times and it's one of the reasons I dislike content that forces me to play with a bunch of people I hardly know. When they made Empyrean armor (I think it was the boots?) drop from mobs in Abyssea, I was so upset that I quit. I didn't want to be forced into a position where people would succumb to their greed yet again.

XIV 1.0:

What will you miss most about 1.0?
Everything. I was a rare fan that was very pleased with the game, especially after the fixes from the yoshida team once they took over. I will miss the friends I made on there more than anything else, and I hope most will be back for ARR. I really really loved BLM and its role role in 1.0 as a burst dmg dealer. It was a job I could play risky with and have fun. Was never boring.

What did you disliked most about 1.0?
Pathetic drop rates for endgame gear, the fact that two guilds existed ingame, yet no classes/jobs were available for them....the fact that they changed the bridge to Ishgard.

Best moment you had on 1.0?
Joining my first ever endgame linkshell. It transformed how I now see the game, and my goals. Not only that, I met some really awesome people, and learned that not everyone at the "top" is a stuck up prick.

XIV 1.0:

What will you miss most about 1.0?

Well, it was a bit of a toss-up between Nael Van Darnus and Dalamund, but I think Van Darnus' unique character as a Final Fantasy bad guy gives him a tiny edge. Final Fantasy has a habit of creating villains I can not only empathize with and/or feel sorry for but I also think are extremely cool. Or, in my case, drop dead gorgeous. (cough, Sephiroth, Vayne, cough) Either way, I usually feel a huge amount of regret whenever I finish off a Final Fantasy villain, because by the end of the game I had grown to like them for one reason or another. Not so with Van Darnus. He was so deliciously easy to hate. He was unattractive (well that's putting it mildly, he was butt ugly), he had no cause I could empathize with, and no reason to feel sympathy for him whatsoever. Not since Kefka have I ever met a Final Fantasy villain I couldn't wait to tear to pieces so much.

What did you disliked most about 1.0?

Wow, this is a bit of a toss-up as well. I can't tell whether it was the severe lack of content at the very beginning times of FFXIV or the stupidity of level over 9000 monsters roaming the paths you needed to traverse in order to finish a quest.

Back in the beginning, the only content we really had was the main storyline. That's it. And many times we couldn't access that unless we had reached a certain level. And the quickest way to level was do levequests (You'd usually level up about 2 to 3 times). But back then, you could only do eight of them at a time! Which meant that if you still wanted to level up, you'd have to do it by grinding mobs, which would take about 500 years a level and get you bored of the game really fast. So, to sum it up, no levequests = no more leveling up = no storyline content = no content at all. Great. Just effin' great.

And then you had the super powered monsters roaming the paths that you had to travel in order to get stuff done. A bit later down the line, when the game was thankfully improved on many of it's worst qualities, you could get a levequest or a mission from an NPC or some other way to go to a certain place and gather something or kill something or whatever. And on the way there, you could run into groups of mobs that were level 60, 80, 90, some pretty powerful beasties. Just one problem: OUR LEVEL CAP WAS 50!!!! I mean, seriously, what the hell? Why would they put level 3000 raptors on the path of my level 32 quest? I couldn't tell whether the devs were being really stupid or just trolling. Maybe both. Either way, after dying to a powerful monster I couldn't avoid about 12 times, I just wanted to commit murder IRL.

Best moment you had on 1.0?

Probably the moment I made Van Darnus take a permanent dirt nap. He thought he was so badass. "Oh, look at me! I'm Nael Van Darnus! I'm crazy and I get my power from the moon! Watch me burn myself to make it crash to the planet! You can't stop me! Wheee!" I made him eat those words and the dust under his feet. Goodbye, Nael Van Douchebag. Spirited Away. For the 12 bazillionth time. If I were to choose a runner up, I'd say The Avengers. Again, for the 12 bazillionth time.

It's a tie between The Walking Dead, Intervention, and Duck Dynasty (one of my guilty pleasures). Yeah, I watch a lot of A&E, can you tell?

Would the entire soundtrack from Ni No Kuni count? If not, well then, I dunno. lol I don't buy a lot of traditional music these days.

Went out of town to visit my nephew. Had a lot of fun. In fact, he'll be here visiting me during Spring Break!

Feature you're most looking forward to testing out?

How well the controller works for the PC version. I played 1.0 with the controller, and it was just awesome. I'd like to know how well it works for ARR.

Class/Job you're most looking forward to playing?

Arcanist. I'd say Summoner, but apparently we won't be able to try that one for a while. (grumble, grumble)

Biggest thing you want to figure out during beta to carry with you into release and help you?

How well I can maneuver with the controller compared to the keyboard and mouse, so I'll know how I want to play PvP arena. Ah, who am I kidding? I'll probably just play with the controller either way.

XIV 1.0:

What will you miss most about 1.0? I loved 1.0 (I started late when it had vastly improved.) The thing I would miss is friends that I could lose touch with at ARR launch.

What did you disliked most about 1.0? The extreme delay/lag whatever you want to call it with the UI/inventory/market wards/Trading/talking to NPC’s, etc.

Best moment you had on 1.0? Beating Nael Van Darnus with my casual social linkshell after attempting literally dozens of times; then touring the Gods all over the world for the Dalamud horn quest with my other half

Biggest thing you want to figure out during beta to carry with you into release and help you? Get used to the new KB controls (hope no NEED for mouse!) and WHM spells/abilities so I can do a good job for my friends/LS <3
