24th makes sense because when they announced last day (final save day) it was announced as November 1 but in reality servers went offline at 5pm EST on October 31.
I kind of hope it does start Sunday on East Coast because I work Monday. Ppl are saying there will be limited hours anyway so I even wonder if those hours will fit into my schedule or will lean more towards JP timeframes. /shrug

It isn't said anywhere, but I don't believe that there will be server times beyond maintenance times. I could be wrong, but the amount of stuff to test and to get to lv.35 and test the content around it, it would be hard to do with a severe limited time. Again, only guessing.24th makes sense because when they announced last day (final save day) it was announced as November 1 but in reality servers went offline at 5pm EST on October 31.

It's a good question, but I agree it's not the right place to ask it. Maybe in the "Ask Questions" thread.
Also, a message to Fern (I hope you see this with that gigantic eye of yours). Can we at least get the time of day for Japan when these things are supposed to start? This way we can calculate on our own time. When do you guys normally "hit the red button" for expansions or testing commencement? Around 10am? Lunch? Just before the evening people leave?
I won't die or anything if you can't provide any extra specifics. It would be nice to plan our days accordingly, though.

This I can agree on, they don't usually clarify dates for other countries that are not Japan when doing the translation. Something as simple as adding GMT and EST(or PST) wouldn't hurt. I have used common sense at this point and know when to expect it now, but I see threads like this come whenever a new patch arrives. It's a good question, but I agree it's not the right place to ask it. Maybe some of us like to be able to celebrate the moment something happens, rather than see it later. Also, it's better to start some of these massive downloads ASAP, especially considering how bad my connection is sometimes.

I'm also thinking..since Phase 1 will be timed...we'll know what time it'll be accessible when we get our emails. :x
