We were talking about it in chat earlier doc looks more like a sprint ability. (who says choco sprint has to look like character sprint or if the sprint ability even looks the same from alpha to beta.)
It is entirely possible that this is a race between the two people on chocoback and the effect happening in front of the rider on the left is a checkpoint.
Maybe it sits there stationary and players must run through it?
(Think old school arcade racing games)
But what can explain the running cactuar?
Maybe he is racing too?
Just a thought. It might not be the sprint ability.
Edit:
Found the video that shows the current sprint animation:
http://youtu.be/-3joG4TVBKU?t=2m54s
It looks nothing like the above image.
If indeed this is the chocobo sprint ability, why use a new animation?
Food for thought.
I wonder if you could breed your chocobo with other people's chocobo!
I really hope for a lot of options with chocobo's.
Like already said, be able to create chocobo's with different stats.
How you breed them, how you feed them and how you train them.
Creating a chocobo that is great at sprinting, or one that is good with magic, etc.
I really hope that picture shows chocobo racing.
If we could have chocobo raising, breeding and racing with the added depth of stats and 'speed ups' etc I would play 2.0 solely for this purpose.
Chocobo racing from FFVII though NOT from XI or XIII-2, I want to race my black Chocobo in realtime
Cue the Crazy Chocobo Theme.
I think cactuar is the 'pet' (like mini-behemoth stuff) of the first character that following him. But dunno what could be the circular graphic effect.. maybe a sort of buff.
Chocobo racing= Open challenge racing. (wishful thinking)
If you could use a sprint ability, it should be put in like in FFVII.
~'\[[_LEGACY_]]/'~TENTs because solo-friendly content forces me to want one!
