On September 11 2012 it was announced that services would be suspended as of September 29 2012. I would have become a legacy member in early October 2012. Under U.S. law this situation would qualify as bait and switch which is illegal. I have attempted to contact support several times regarding the matter. I do not want this to become a legal matter as I love Square Enix and all it has done for the gaming industry. I just want the legacy status I was robbed of. Is there any way this could be made possible?

    1. Did you get at least one email (If I remember correctly, they sent me several) from SE advertising the 'Legacy Program'?
    2. When did you stop playing the game that you were not actually paying the Sub fees?
    3. If you weren't playing, did you get email notification about the 'Welcome Back Campaign?' (and honestly, even if you were you should have gotten these emails)
    4. Did you check the Lodestone on at least a monthly basis to keep up on information?
    5. When you contacted the Support Team, did you make it clear that you were paying monthly and NOT paying in bulk? Also, did you make it clear how many months you had paid for already?
    6. Again, did you not get any emails or read the posts on the lodestone that explicitly told us when we needed to have paid our 3 months in full by?
    7. When you were playing, did you not see the system messages upon logging in directing you to read more about both the Legacy and Welcome Back Campaigns on the Lodestone?
    8. Did you share all of this information with your 'Lawyer' as well...or did you just share the parts about how SE didn't give you what you wanted? Lawyers can only give council based on the facts you give them. You might have the best lawyer in the world, but if you don't give them ALL the information, they can't accurately give you council or tell you what is truely in your best interest.

Here are links to all the information I could easily find in under 3 minutes you might want to also share with your lawyer...then ask her if you have a case. (Which you don't...but go ahead, ask her).

below is the post that covers SE by the way

Regarding the 90-day Subscription Option (posted 6/15/2012)

As our community may be aware, FINAL FANTASY XIV offers 30-day and 90-day subscription periods. We wish to inform our players that we will be discontinuing the 90-day subscription option on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Beginning Sunday, July 1, 2012 we will only offer a 30-day subscription plan.

Fulfilling the Requirements for the Legacy Campaign
Players Currently Within the 30-Day Free Trial Period
Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

    Current Players
Players who have subscribed for at least 90 cumulative days since January 6, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

    Returning Players
Players who played before January 5, 2012 and wish to resume playing again will need to register for a 90-day subscription before Saturday, June 30, 2012 in order to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.
There were more posts relating to the topic as well...but these are the key ones. Heck, there was even a GIANT Legacy Icon on the left-hand side of the main Lodestone Page for the months this was being advertised.

And this is just what was on the Lodestone. This doesn't take into account the emails which would have been sent to you personally, the posts by community members and devs on these forums or the in-game messages you would have seen if you were in fact, playing the game you supposedly were loyal enough to to earn legacy in the first place.
