You two are having Waaay to much fun.
Get a room and a (tape recorder).
On a side note, I've been seriously consitering the insult my father once tried to deal with me, telling me I worshiped video games. It might actually be true.
Gaming has provide a rich background of mythology and lore for me to experience.
Some of those tales have given me much to think about in terms of life lessons.
Some of the game, yeah, they're embarrassing parts of our culture. There are people like that in religion too.
And everyone takes something different from the interpretation, gaming is unique to each person even if that experience is often (and in some cases better) shared with others.
- But I don't have to adhere to some hierarchy, or be questioned on my belief if these tales were 'real'. (Which in my opinion means that I'm not pressured to miss the point of the tale to defend the validity of the tale.) And the pressure to be a 'true gamer' can more or less go completely ignored.
I also don't get offended at the stereotype of a gamer when it gets displayed, because I know better as does everyone here as this thread has done well to indicate.
So, yeah. I think I might actually worship gaming.
