THM, PUG, MRD & Arcanist uncertain presence in Phase 1...

For those reading, I didn't see the dev answer in another post. As many answered, the four jobs I mentionned in the title won't be playable on Phase 1 and Phase 2.

I've updated the original post in this thread to clarify my original statement. While normally you would only be able to play as the classes available in Gridania, please note that as a special exception during Beta Test phase 1 & 2, players will be able to complete specific objectives to unlock the gladiator class. Tanks will be very much needed for content like instanced raids (the level 25 dungeon in particular) and as such the dev. team has made them available for usage!

Eagle-eyed posters already spotted some gladiators in our most recent blog post, too.

No need to mention that they won't be there..

Original post for those wondering...

I thought the latest letter would give me an answer on that subject but it didn't. In Alpha, we could play as Archer, Conjurer and Lancer only. It was normal IMO because their guilds were located in Gridania. From the screenshots, we can see that the Gladiator will be in the Phase 1 but still no signs of Thaumaturge, Pugilist, Marauder and Arcanist. I'm not surprised to see Gladiator being in Phase 1 since there were no tank-jobs in the Alpha.

Like the title says, the presence of certain jobs are uncertain at this point (letters and "roadmap" have no mention about jobs). All races will be present but maybe not all jobs. I truly thought that all jobs would be present right form the start so they could tweak them between all phases to get them perfect when the game would be launched. Also, I thought they'd be present because Warrior and Black Mage were the most played jobs in 1.23.

Do you think they'll be present in Phase 1?
Will you be a little disappointed if they aren't there?

** There was also Fisher that I was interested in trying because I expect big changes since the 1.23 fishing but that isn't as important as getting the jobs right (and the new Arcanist one too). **

Same as Alpha, except they noted they will have a special quest in place to get Gladiator. For a Tank you know. Otherwise still limited to Gridanian Classes.

They won't be there in phase 1, only things in Phase 1 are the Gridania classes, plus Gladiator which will have a special quest to give you it's weapon. Gladiator is present as a special measure because the L35 dungeon they want us to test requires an actual tank class, and Lancer is no tank.

It was made pretty clear in a rep response that only the classes associated with the guilds in Gridania (with the special exception of Gladiator to test instances) will be available in Phases 1 and 2.

They wont be present at phase 1 and 2 (?), but all classes will be available in later phases.

The first phase will probably be more technical like a continuation of an alpha and less like a beta.

Yep, pretty much. Phase 1 and 2 look to be more server stress tests, on a grander scale. Stressing server things like large battles (FATE), queries from the AH, and other types of things.
