Patience is dying, sadly its all about instant gratification these days.
I agree it will get here when its done, this is one dodo they can cook till its well done and smoking out the house.
No more bait and switch topic titles please.
Strange, I would imagine 99% of the people posting on the Lodestone about their anticipation etc are probably Legacy and full-time players. Not sure who you're talking to here but the majority of us probably aren't 'casual'.I don't get it. Despite my best intentions I played the hell out of 1.0. I would think I'm in that tier that would be excited about any significant news related to the game. And I am. But I don't care if this begins on the 15th, 25th, or next month. It's the first stage of beta, not the release of ARR -and even if it was, how does the exactness of the date affect my life? Or yours?
Oh yes, August 16th would be soo much better than August 30th. Never mind the fact that the first iteration came out nearly three years ago. We can wait three years for a better product, but not a week more!
It's a funny paradox how the general public is so fanatical and passionate about something, but then the tone changes to a far more casual one after the game (or the patch, whatever) is released.
Providing things aren't rushed then yes 1,2 or 30 days sooner for beta access is a good thing in my opinion. I am eager to see/test the changes to the game and see old friends in game etc.
To the people who will undoubtedly say that beta is for testing and not playing etc etc I'm also looking forward to beta as I'm going to make damn sure that I feed back as much as possible to SE so that we don't end up with a release like we had for 1.0.
He'll announce it on the letter of producer live on the 22nd, and we'll be playing the 28th is my guess. Another case of 'Soon' (tm)
Please do. It looks like they're listening pretty intently to the feedback this go round. While they obviously can't change everything I believe they're taking it all into consideration.
Sorry, a car ride is for getting to your destination, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the scenery along the way.
Just in case my analogy is misunderstood: you can play & test the beta at the same time.

That's not possiblethe biggest reason for 1.0 fail was the absurd unresponsiveness of the game, no tutorials to explain how things worked and such things. New team has already eliminated those things; So if it fails, it will be for other reasons. They have shown time and again their dedication to the project, and changing things according to community wishes. So the chance of the game failing is minimal; though there are still people that aren't even aware of a remake.
Was hoping for Feb 14th as well, not for any reason other then the dates, in international date format it would be
14-2 ...
jc
mods should set up a filter deleting every thread with the word "beta" before the emails actually get out.
