I was going to do something like this except I was going to make a 'top 20' list of the most 'liked' questions. Maybe you could add a section to your list like that.

I've been tracking likes myself.
People really want to see arcanist gameplay footage. I was surprised that the materia system question has gotten so many likes, but I guess I haven't been paying too much attention. We don't have any information other than a couple vague hints. And people really also want to see "other classes".
I think if they answer one of those three questions I think it would make a lot of people happy! \o.o/
Although this might seem like a good idea at first, there are a couple of reasons why I haven't yet done this:
First off, I've come to realize that the likes are skewed primarily towards the posts in the beginning of the thread. The reasons being that most people likely only read the first few pages of that thread and like the posts they are intereste in but after seeing duplicate posts appear they probably tell themselves "hell no i'm not gunna read 20 more pages of duplicate posts" and just "post quick reply" with a question they have in mind. This also has the effect of making it such that duplicate posts are ever increasing in the latter pages of that thread.
The second reason I don't want to make such a post is that I fear doing so will only enforce the aforementioned bias. That is, by singling out the top 20 posts and letting everyone know "these are the most 'liked' posts in the thread" I fear that people will be further incited to "like" those posts (social/peer pressure) even though there may be more interesting posts they wish answered.
However, I may consider doing this in a few days given enough interest.
Can you total up the number of likes by server based on the users' posts?
(given enough interest)
I'm not sure I understand the question.
What do you mean "by server"? Do you mean, the subcategories such as "pvp" "housing" "new jobs" etc?
And what do you mean by totalling up the number of likes based on users posts?
Do you mean, attributing a "like" value to each subcategory based on the quantity of questions asking for clarification about a same topic? As you can see certain topics have a lot more questions than others (for example compare "housing" which must have over a dozen questions to "materia which only has one question).

So I skimmed the ops. new content and end game sections havent seen this question though or any other questions regarding to content lifespan and power creep, so i'm fairly sure its not duplicated
which is basically why i skimmed the relevent sections of your summary before asking the above![]()

I admit I have yet to incorporate your question on power creeps, however Taika's question you quoted as well as a number of others addressing the same issue have been placed in the "Gear Progression" and "Level Progression" topics in Part II. Progression:So I skimmed the ops. new content and end game sections havent seen this question though or any other questions regarding to content lifespan and power creep, so i'm fairly sure its not duplicated
What are the plans for the longevity of end game gear pieces? When a player obtains a current best-in-slot piece, how long will it last as such before something better will be added making that piece obsolete? Are there going to be pieces that will be very difficult and slow to obtain but which will last a long time?Edit: Keep in mind the sorting of questions by categories is purely subjective on my part and due to the integrated nature of some of these questions, bordering multiple topics, it's hard to place the question in what may be percieved as the most accurate topic, hence some questions are repeated in more than one topic. However, i try to keep the repetitions to a minimum for lack of clutter. Will ARR be like most MMO these days where people jump to 50 in a week and grow bored of end game content in a month? Do you plan to make ARR along these lines of most mmo these days to appeal to the casuals or will you be stepping back and taking a page from FFXI where leveling was a long process and endgame wasn't "the game" This question also refers to DOL and DOH.
Edit2: I added your question in the Gear Progression topic since you mention best in slot pieces as an example, however I could throw together these four posts and a few others lingering in the end game topic into their own topic (content longevity?)

Didn't read the whole thread, but many questions has already been answered.
I guess what I am reallly trying to say is ... people really should read the beta road map and other related ARR info, before asking a questions that has already been answered.
The Live cast is time limited, lets try to get as much as NEW info from YP as much as possible, and not wasted his time with already answered questions.

Yep, past answered questions and duplicate questions make up the majority of the posts in the official thread. The problem is, some players are ignorant of the fact that the questions they are asking have been answered and "don't have the time" to search for the answer to their question on google or in the forums. However, some players asking these questions are entirely aware that they have been answered in the past but are unsatisfied with the answers they were given (often too vague) thus they desire further elaboration.Didn't read the whole thread, but many questions has already been answered.

The problem is, if players demand answers to questions about features that haven't yet been finalized in the game, SE has no choice but to be vague in their response (disclaimer: all content is subject to change in the future and is not yet finalized etc.). If SE were to make concrete statements on content that is not yet finalized, players would no doubt act on those statements, only to be dissapointed weeks or months later when they find out they were given false information. Thus, the blame falls on SE and players rage like no tomorrow. So, SE has no choice but to be vague when answering questions on features that have yet to be finaized . I wouldn't expect for concrete statements on any new feature until the veritable launch of ARR.
About the questiosn that have already been asnwered. I think Zantetsuken tried making a post answering some of these, but from what I understand it didn't go over very well. If someone has the audacity to start a thread compiling quotes of the questions that have already been answered followed by a direct quote or link to a dev post/article/official video/roadmap answering that question, that would be very helpful.
