I see your point here, honestly I saw that guys post but I just wanted to be sure to include the one time thing >_< I can see though why it comes off as duplicate ;;Next thing you know, I'm going to be called a "bully" lol, sorry If I hurt your feelings but being called dense is pretty low o nthe name calling food chain, gurl.
Well, that was their answer to that question. Perhaps it has changed since then, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But, personally, your question remains identical to the former except that you used the term "one time" instead of just "name change".
No, I don't blame them. They have no choice but to answer vaguely because the players demand info on future content and threaten to quit for lack thereof. Thus SE is forced to disclose future content so as to please their player base. But because the future content is not yet finalized they must answer vaguely and in an obscure fashion because, as we all know, all content is subject to future changes and thus not final. If SE were to make concrete statements about future content, players would act on those statements, only to realize that the content is implemented differently than they were told and so the players blame th company for false advertising etc. It's a vicious ciricle. Truth be told, I fully understand them.
The mmo world is full of vicious circles. Like class balance vs class diversity. No, I don't blame them. I assume (and I know that assumptions make an ASS out of U and ME) that need/greed/pass is the same as the tokenized loot system. Again here, I could be wrong. It is an assumption.I wonder how my question is a duplicate of the one above?
Bitty's Question is asking about the need / greed / pass rolling system and how it will work.
My question was more aimed at the tokenised aspect which players wanted as a kind of insurance policy incase what they wanted never ever dropped. I'm not so fussed about how the need and greed part works. what I am fussed about is finding the one item I want is the one that never drops. and thus I make no progress on obtaining it.
In the q&a I gave hamlet as an example. because even if a content guarantees drops on completion in arr there is no information on whether all a contents drops will have an equal drop rate or some will be more common than others. Such as hamlets in 1.0. Guaranteed drops when you break 60k score. But I only ever once saw a pair of militia tights drop from aleport in 112 runs. (i had once checked how many i did in the achievements menu.) yet i saw 15-20 cuirass, 112 armets, another 15-20 duckbills, 5 or 6 pairs of earrings and i have no idea how many seals.
totally seperate question.
People need to back up and realize this isn't some troll thread meant to single out any one person or humiliate them. Just because the questions aren't identical does not mean they aren't asking for the same answers. And yes, this is just my interpretation of duplicate questions, and I am not the pantocrator nor will I pass judgement. I don't think you are a good or bad person. I'm just pointing out the fact that some of these questions are frustratingly similar and it would be nice if people spent the time to read the former questions before auto replying a question that most likely has been asked in one form or another.
P.S. Just FYI from a previous thread:
A Quick Summary of the recent JP Articles by Stanislaw:
Reinhearts Translaton:- Raid bosses will always drop some type of reward - somewhere around 2~3 rare drops per party, random lotted. Even if one didn't get the rare drop, the players will be rewarded with tokens which you can then exchange for rare drops. In exchange, the chances to participate in the random lottery will be limited to 3 times per week. (Stanislaw's notes: The text in the interview here isn't really clear. What I'm assuming this means is that the chance to get that 2~3 rare drops is limited to 3 times per week, but one can still get tokens by trying the content over and over again. On the other hand, this can easily mean the return of horrid re-entry times.)
Raid boss Drop question on translationYou are right it does say 2-3 rewards (item) and for those that didn't get will get a token and can collect those.
Still question remains on where that person got "3 times per week came from" unless that's in that article. Don't have any original copy of the magazine or scans so I just went off by the 2ch summary info.>・現行では当初コンテンツにトークン制を取り入れたいと考えていた。
>例えば1回クリアで必ずパーティに2~3個の報酬があってみんなで分配する形。
>何もエられなかった人にはトークンが渡されてコツコツ参加すれば本命のアイテムより性能が少し落ちる品物が手に入るようにする構想
- Wanted to put in token system into current version contents.
- For example with 1 clear have 2-3 rewards (報酬 Houshuu, doesn't say トークンhere like above...orz sorry) which can be distributed with everyone
- Idea was for those that didn't get anything have a token and once you participate enough you get an item with lower stats than the original.
Just read the other thread post if its translation from Stanislaw it's most likely correct, that info maybe what he read in the magazine since he's in Japan (I think lol) pretty sure he has the original article to translate from.
Maybe talking about the greed system YoshiP talked about previously?? like you can only do greed x times per week?? not sure, just guessing w
Update 2:
Thanks for the links, the info in regards to token is in the first article, the 4gamer one. My translation might not be 100% accurate or as good as Rein's so maybe have him look into it later.
Again l would like to state that my Japanese is limited and as such the translation might not be 100% accurate.
This time in New FFXIV, instead of of tying Boss monster rare drops to luck/chance, your guaranteed to obtain some kind of reward for defeating the boss. One party will get around 2-3 rewards so you'll have to draw(i assume he means roll can also mean lottery) for it within the party, As a result you'll be limited to 3 rolls/draws/lottery per week depending on the content, and a reset timer will be provided for each content.
And of course those who do not win the lottery will be awarded token/tickets which can be accumulated and exchanged for items so in result you will always gain something
確実4gamer: に2~3人はレアアイテムが手に入り,ほかの人にもちゃんと報酬が用意されていると。
4gamer: So 2-3 people will be guaranteed items and the others will also obtain some kind of reward?
Yoshida:
In regards to rare items, if your luck is really bad, then your chance might not come around but even then you can challenge the content 3-4 times a week.(this next sentence is a bit confusing for me, so I'll color it green since I'm not sure if I'm reading it right)If you still don't get it then you can do different content until you can re-acquire it. In this regard, unless you play and experience it yourself it is hard to explain.
The part in green, there were some kanji in this sentence that i did not understand, The way i understood it is if you fail to get the reward within that week, then you can do other content till your lottery participation timer is up again. if this translation is somewhat accurate then this can mean a few things.
If lottery participation timer is different from re-entry timer then this would indicate that if you lose the lottery 3x then you won't be able to roll again even if u got nothing, so win or lose you lose lottery participation count.
"そのリセットタイマー" "that reset timer" in this case, the way i understand it, "that" is referring to the lottery participation, implying that the timer is for the lottery participation. But for all we know in SE's head lottery participation and re-entry might be the same thing, so its hard to say if the two are different. Taking into the fact that u can only participate in lottery 3x (1st quote) but can challenge the content 3-4x (2nd quote) i myself think the 2 are different, an official translation on the subject would be nice .
In the first quote he says that you draw for the items within the party(at least that is how i understood it) implying it might not be system side random lottery, people might have the option to pass, those who don't get the drops will get token instead.
One last time i would like to remind people that my translation skills are very limited, there are some Kanji within the article that i do not understand well so keep that in mind when you discuses and hope we get something more accurate and official soon.

Have fun with that mostly everyone else will be using the like button at the meantime goodluck in your endeavour!
Good for you hope that make you feel more special for yourself and you found the like button like everyone else btw im one of the like btw >.>
This is a pointless thread, no offense to OP (I get that your looking for something to do..). Many of the examples in your OP aren't even the same question, and it's really not up to you to decide if something has already been covered in enough detail or not. If you'd like to remind ppl to read through all the submitted questions before posting their own, thats one thing.. but suggesting that someone's question is redundant because the topic may have been addressed before isn't your call. If a player see's a question and wants to like it, they can, or if they feel the question could have been worded differently or more specifically in order to seek the answers they're looking for, they can do that too.
Someone (not me: too lazy) should start a thread to answer all of the questions that are being posted that have been categorically answered in letters and by community reps already.
Ahh what a reminder that one should type exactly what one is referring to in one's questions/comments
@Matsume - you are right people should be taking the time to read and like instead of re-posting and cluttering up the thread. Can't imagine what the question thread is going to look like by the end of next week.
@Dzian - I agree we were asking different questions (related subject but different)
@Matsume/all - My question is about the limitations & restrictions that Yoshi mentioned (sry can't remember which live letter he made a passing comment about restrictions on "needing"). Several members of my linkshell remember the comment but we all are aware that no details were offered. I have realized that I probably should have asked with greater detail, but in all honesty I wanted to se what they (SE) would offer as an answer. You are right that the tokens and NGP will all tie into each other
Thank you for the reminders and especially the links above. Good info to have.
