That was going to be exactly what I said. Well the On topic part!
When the NDA is lifted "walkthroughs" are going to pop up all over the place! Endgame as well cuz of all the hard work we put in in 1.0 :P
It's not a sub based game either, so I'm sure they're proud of their 3 million box sales. They're sure to be proud of their x amount of expansion sales in the future too.
Through my YouTube subscription (http://www.youtube.com/user/tombraider?feature=watch), I’ve seen a lot of marketing, gameplay and behind-the-scenes videos from Crystal Dynamics’ (a Square-Enix subsidiary) upcoming Tomb Raider game.
Given Wada’s recent statements regarding the future of MMOs and the importance of MMOs to Square-Enix (in line with S-E’s considerable investment in FFXIV 1.0 and ARR), I sincerely hope they do something similar, marketing and hype-wise, leading up to the launch of ARR.
I know they have their hands full prepping for beta and launch, but take a look at some of these Tomb Raider videos and imagine something similar for FFXIV. Talk about getting new people revved up for the game…
From my understanding, and I think I've read this from one of Yoshi's interview, SE really really dislikes bad publicity, especially if people talk about how "bad" the beta looks. This is why all screenshot are labelled with HUGE signes @ alpha!, beta!
So they don't want to do too many videos on youtube for fear that people will start trashing the game prematurely.
Tokyo game show video became a larger mystery to me then lolFrom my understanding, and I think I've read this from one of Yoshi's interview, SE really really dislikes bad publicity, especially if people talk about how "bad" the beta looks. Yoshida said he personally approved that video but even the white knights of the forums were like "hm.. that video isnt appealing".
Of course it was riddled with old footage so ARR itself looked better then that video at its showing. Good times good times.. lol
I don't know bout you guys but i seem to have a few friends interested in ARR, word of mouth goes along way especially with games. If we all keep positive and praise the good work that the DEV team is doing, we will have the best game to play for years to come.
There have been alot of different kinds of posts going on and myself i feel that we(those who worship FF) are being alittle bit greedy in terms of this open feedback system. Personally i think that FF:XIV is absolutly amazing, you can't beat it, there is no other title that can come close. I mean come on this SH** is copyrighted, its the best hands down or up whatever you want to do with you hands its the best game out there for this game era. 1.0 was and now 2.0 thanks to an incredibal team.
I want to say thank you for the wait, now i know how much i love this game. Let us(me) help you make it awesome for years to come because there is nothing else that i want to play.
