The amount of crying in this thread over one screenshot is AMAZING.

The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.
That because basic game mechanics are present in all video games in some shape or form I'm sure if anyone could come up with a way to revolutionize how you play a game differently they get hire pretty dam fast lol. Wow only made what was already their in all mmo of the past and made it more user friendly and streamline questing about it.
While I cant say I dont see a WoW resemblance to that "one"screenshotphoto of a screen* (due to the saturation of those particular colors) - I can say we've hardly scratched the surface of ARR (level 20 of 3 fighting classes not including jobs is all the Alpha videos include (and alpha)).
Also we cant really see shit in that photo so it may actually be really cool looking - I've already cropped and zoomed in, its a pixel fest because the screen is only a small part of the photo. I'm not a fan of waiting but we should probably wait
(Edit: Dragonheart reminded me to change the wording from screenshot to photo, since its not even a screenshot :P)

I have played all final fantasies except 3, and some of the spin offs like digre of crebrus. I have not played the GARBAGE of 13 and probably never will.
I played 11 for a long time and I also played WoW for quite a while. And YES the battles in WoW were much more dynanic, and fun you could say. In 11 you basically just either zerged or kited and dps to death. Dont get me wrong, there are things in WoW that are done in a great way, but it is the overall that just got tiring. WoW never had that "cinematic" or "narrative" sentiment that 11 did.
Hard to explain guys.
Rift for example.
Game looks amazing!! But it was a carboy copy of WoW with a different story.... sad.
I sincerely hope, that they who feels ARR is wowish and hate it, really quit it now. Better than complaining for the direction that will not be changed. Drop it now before you ruin other passenger mood. as someone said it, put your money where your mouth is.
Aion Zwei - Masamune
I seriously don't try to compare games I go for the lore and story im not worried what the leach king is doing when im playing a different game lol.
I agree. For all we know Rukkirii's game might in fact look like Dynasty Warriors! While I cant say I dont see a WoW resemblance to that "one" screenshot (due to the saturation of those particular colors) - I can say we've hardly scratched the surface of ARR (level 20 of 3 fighting classes not including jobs is all the Alpha videos include (and alpha)).

Once beta comes out.. if the games turns out for me to be a wow clone. That will be it for me.
I am not against borrowing good ideas and things that are now standard... but Final Fantasy is much much more than your geeneric MMO.
How many of you liked FFxi over wow?
FFXI had that final fantasy feeling.
I never felt attached to my characters in wow
i tried and tried to get into the story and blizzard just failed to do it.
I like RPGS with a story that grabs you and envolves you. FFXI did that in a marvelous way. Dont tell me you guys dont have awesome memories of your zilart missions, cop missions etc etc? That for me is what final fantasy is all about.
Even in crappy version 1.0. the story and cs were amazing.
