Most MMO's use item binding and for the most part, their economy is good, even after several years the economy is still good. FF11 was one of few mmos that did not use the item binding and their economy was pretty bad, specially for new players. It was basically the early players that made a lot of gill when the game came out, and all players who joined ff11 2-3 years later had a really hard time making gill or skilling up a craft with out losing more gill than they could make.

I personally don't want that in ARR, I want the economy to thrive well even in 4 years from now, and if item binding is the solution, than I'm all for it.
