I'm don't know how big your SSD is but programs are normaly not big at all. I have 120 GB of SSD space where i have windows, programs and games that i play very often. On my HDD i have all the other stuff like photos, videos, music and games i play only 1 time till i finish them or that i play rarely at all.

If you want to move your programs to the HDD you should most likely reinstall them on the HDD. Just make a folder that is called programs or whatever you want to name it. And don't forget to save and copy important stuff that won't be there anymore after reinstalling a programm, like account information and other things.

Hmm, after plugging in the HDD, nothing but the C:/ shows, along with my dvd drive. Going to Device Manager, see that it's reading somewhat, but the details on it are vague, and there's no option in the BIOS to more or less 'set it up'.

    What gives?
