Thanks! Good to hear there will be a spring model. I will just hang on to my ol trusty iMac for nowIf your iMac can act as a monitor, then probably so. I'm not sure how the driver support through Windows will work with it though. You can always buy, try, and return it if it doesn't work.
I would get an external USB DVD or BluRay drive. The tray or snap-on-spindle types are more reliable than the slot kind, at least for me, anyway.
If I needed to buy a Mac now, I like the portable and retina of the MacBook Pro. But since I don't, I would probably wait to see what the rumored new Mac Pro ("spring 2013") will offer before making a choice.
