How about instead of racial bonus operating like in 11, that it operated like a passive trait dependant on race and gender, and that bonus is spread across the party

    For example

Lalafell males could add 10% magic potency natively when solo, but all party members get a bonus too if a lalafell male is in their party, say 5% so the lalafell male continues his reign as e-peen king.
Lalafell females could add 10% max mp, etc

If all the members are lalafell males there are diminishing returns -> 10% for first, then +1% per next member

I put an idea like that on the ring design contest (sadly probably came last lol) where battle regimen/skillchains would get a 5/10/15% boost based on the amount of races taking part.

What better way to encourage diversity and party play?

(yes i still hold a grudge against those Tarutaru exclusive LS's that I was never allowed to join ; ; )

I agree. having these slanted attributes in FFXI is what caused people to frown on a Galka being a mage and a Taru being a warrior, it made some players quite frustrated in being forced to play a race to be optimal with their job.

Racial group buffs would definantly be better than racial attribute buffs for themselves, however WAY too many people play miqo'te and lalafel The sheer outnumbering almost ensure that a fully diverse party will never be created.

It would be better if they made class/job group buffs instead, so it doesnt matter what races you have in your party.

Well it, that an in 1.0 they allowed you to adjust your own stats with allotment points. Which I believe in 2.0 they took out. Which would make adding it into 2.0 would make it all the more important!

I'm not going to read the entire thread.

Just NO. NO NO NO NO NO

I do NOT want any stat bonuses/buffs/limitations of any kind tied to the race, gender, hair color or eye shape of the character.

What is the point of having all of these new character creation options if our choice of race/gender is going to be limited by a stat (or what have you) tied to the choice. It makes it worse than having no choice at all with regard to race/appearance.

I do not like playing mage jobs, and if a race bonus/whatever was brought into the game, most likely the Lalafell would be given stats tied to mage jobs, which would affect my choice on my appearance.

    No, just NO on this.

Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.

I propose that no forum thread that has a title that's all caps and ends with 1 or more exclamation point be taken seriously.
Also no on the idea for all the same reason all the other people posted.

i think all the races should have some kind of unique bonus. but i wouldnt recommend changing stats too specific races. maybe a certain day of the week can make a certain race stronger or a type of food will give more bonus too a certain race. but i feel the original stats should be left alone.

As long as Seafood dishes start doing more than one thing. in 1.0, a certain type of dish, be it Meat dish or Egg dish, had only one effect across all foods of their type. That would make it bad for a Miqo'te tank whos trying to get the tanking bonuses out of grain dishes, but wont get the full benefit of it because miqo'te's favorite is seafood dish, and seafood dishes were crafter/gatherer food. They would have to balance it all out if they were to do that.
