Lost character in profile settings

I haven't logged into the forums for a while. I just logged in to post on a thread, and found that it wouldn't let me go anywhere (once logged in) until I chose a main character. Now, I've already done this a long time back; however, my main character is no longer even showing. I was forced to choose my mule as a main character just to be able to post.

What happened to my character data? I'll be very upset if I find that I'll have to start a new character in v2.0 if my data has been lost.

Check your square-enix account and see what characters are listed under your continuous options. whatever character are there you will have it in ARR.

I have two blank options and my mule (one of the blanks should be my main).

Oh that is very bad.... Cast a ticket immediately... I'm sure they have in record when your character was deleted... If they see it was after the last save then they should be able to do something about it. If not then you might have deleted it by accident...

I filled out a ticket (2079454). I can only hope that they didn't lose it in the data migration...

Representative ran a data recovery tool (kept giving him errors, but he got it to work after 3 tries). Character data shows up both on SE FFXIV Service Account and Forums (as you can see on the left again); however, he also said that the recovery tools are not fully functional given the current state of v1.0, and so may not have recovered completed. It's also not certain that the data recovered was of the Final Save Data.

He asked me to recall the case number he gave me once Beta Phase 3 starts (which is when migration testing is set to begin), so I will be doing that.

They made a back up of everyone char so you should be fine

Yes, but there is a possibility that my backup data was deleted in the same fashion. We'll have to wait until Beta Phase 3 to find out, once they begin migration testing.
