This is the FFXIV community, you're not allowed to have a differing opinion, lay out valid points or use common sense when it fights against what someone else wants or deems correct or else you'll get people attacking your every point till you tell them they're correct.

Fyi, Necromancy has a huge role in FFXI's overall lore, therefore anyone that says Necromancer wouldn't fit should remember: SE originally intended to release Necromancer but they cop'd out and threw in PUP which is still basically what they intended Necromancer to play like.

If someone hadn't played FFXI, much like Summoning Magic being forbidden, Necromancy was considered a taboo art and most Necromancers were banished below Tavnazia to the aqueducts after the war, however Necromancy is just another form of black magic. In XIV they're coping out again with Summoning Magic.

Even if you're summoning undead for good purposes in XIV how does it distinguish itself from a summoner? I get it would summon undead not primals, but after that there is little distinction. It's an undead summoner.

edit: grammar
Your point? You do realize there's multiple styles of pet summoning...right? In XI you had DRGs with their Wyverns, Summoners with their Avatars, Beastmaster with various pets they can tame/call and Necromancer/Puppetmaster with Automatons.

All 4 of those means they're "just x summoners" using that logic.

Interesting, they made Corsair and Dancer pretty much the way everyone wanted it. The only thing that people disliked were the usual people who think DD is the only thing that matters.
