With beta a week or so away and a lot of the communities attention being diverted to the beta and/or the beta forums and these forums soon to be flooded with "Waaah legacy is unfair" and "This class is OP"/"This class is too weak," etc. I figured a questionnaire was in order to wrap up the past and the present as well as predict the future. Thought it would be cool to dig up in the years to come, like a Time Capsule like thing. Some questions are meant to touch on sensitive subjects and make you think, you can skip them if you choose but that just wouldn't be any fun now would it.

What will you miss most about 1.0?

First, all the people I played with that I may not see in 2.0

What did you disliked most about 1.0?

Hamlets maybe.

Best moment you had on 1.0?

I'm going to say early Darkhold. Looking back it wasn't the toughest encounter, but it was the start of seeing what the new time was capable of. Plus we had Battle Regimens then, and I had a lot of hope that a "real endgame" was just around the corner.

That said I would never ever do Darkhold "just for fun" again after 1.18

Someone you met in 1.0 that you will miss due to them going to a different server?

I don't know yet, because I do not know what server anyone is going to definitely. I'll have to see once the new servers are released, but I am sure there will be plenty of people I'll miss playing with.

A lot of these aren't really applicable to me (due to me being too lazy/not in a ls/not interested in that aspect of the game etc), but I'll answer what I can!

XIV 1.0:

What will you miss most about 1.0? Hard to say - I admit the old interface appearance (but not functionality) has kind of grown on me, so I'm going to miss the 'ye old' style icon artwork/text/menu box style.

What did you disliked most about 1.0? Laaaaaag. Seriously, everything was so laggy - it was worse than FFXI's Whitegate or Port Jeuno on a bad day, and that was even when there was only a few dozen people in a zone. I didn't really like the original action-orientated battle system with 1.0's original release either, but as that was changed so long ago it's not really appropriate.

Best moment you had on 1.0? Soloing GLA from 13-50 in a matter of weeks after the servers were reactivated, and managing to unlock PLD and finish off the main scenario (up to the 7th Umbral Era story), all on my own. Yes, I know none of that will be transferring across as I missed the final save deadline, but still, I'm really proud I managed to accomplish that anyway even if it won't save.

Someone you met in 1.0 that you will miss due to them going to a different server? Hmmm, not sure. The only people I really talked to in 1.0 were friends from FFXI who joined at the same time, and who, in all but but one case, switched servers. I did meet a couple of new people in the 2.0 Alpha who hopefully I'll be able to catch up with in 2.0 release, but I guess that doesn't count.

XIV 1.0 ----> XIV 2.0 Break:

Best movie you saw during your break from XIV? None. I'm not really a film buff anymore.

Best show you watched during your break from XIV? NCIS. It's about the only TV show I watch anymore regularly, and the latest season just seems to be getting better and better.

Best song you heard for the first time during your break from XIV? That's hard to say - my musical taste is varied, but I don't really follow new music as it just annoys me. I'm just going to go ahead and say Answers as constantly playing the 'End of an Era' trailer hasn't helped!

Best game you played during your break from XIV? FFXI I guess. I would have said FFXIII-2 but XI is vastly superior.

Best place you went during your break from XIV? Nowhere really. Although I did go to my brother's place on Christmas Day and I spent a lot of that time playing his import PC Engine (he's the one that made me into such a gaming geek ).

Best thing that happened to you during your break from XIV? Nothing that I can think of really. Life's been pretty mundane for me lately.

Game you played the most during your break from XIV? Dissida Duodecium for PSP - Shantotto>everyone else. That is all.

Feature you're most looking forward to testing out? Seeing what changes have been made from the Alpha (which naturally I won't go into ).

Class/Job you're most looking forward to playing? GLA/PLD of course. Lesser extent CNJ/WHM.

Biggest thing you want to figure out during beta to carry with you into release and help you? Information relating to quests and the main scenario.

XIV 2.0 Release:

Feature you think you will enjoy the most? Seeing 1.0 Enki in the new Eorzea and just going and exploring the changed landscape. And trying out my Legacy chocobo!

Job you think your Linkshell/Free Company will want you to play the most for endgame activities? I'm not in a ls so this doesn't concern me.

Primal battle you think you will enjoy the most? Shiva! Although I'm intrigued about how changed Ifrit is going to be and if the amal'jaa are still sucking up to him.

Primal battle you think you will dislike the most? Odin. Zantesuken is going to suck.

Feature you hope will be implemented to 2.0 eventually? Auction House! I've never liked Market Wards and having to browse stupid retainers.

Job you hope gets implemented to 2.0 eventually? Red Mage I guess. But I don't really see how that could be introduced without major shakeups to the Armoury System (weapon and abilities are already used by another class/Job).

Feature from FFXI(11) you hope will be implemented in 2.0 eventually? I would have said Mog Houses but they're coming to 2.0 anyway so that doesn't count. Hmmm, maybe AF2 sets which actually have a connection to the lore of the game? Ala, gained through a quest sequence like AF1 is.

Feature from FFXI(11) you hope will never be implemented in 2.0? Magian Trials! Oh Azeyma above! I hope that NEVER comes to FFXIV. In fact, anything that copies Abyssea also I hope is never considered for FFXIV either.

Most of all: the terrible drop lucks. There's also connectivity issues like delay and congestions. Oh... fishing and that dreaded GC's chocobo theme. lol

Don't remember the name, but there's someone I met during my earlier adventure that helps me alot and later moving to Ragnarok.

Dunno. The Hobbit maybe... Oh... and Diary of Wimpy Kid trilogy. lol

Best show you watched during your break from XIV?
Reruns of Friends, Scrubs, Nichijou, etc. any comedic stuff.

Best song you heard for the first time during your break from XIV?
Answers (lol). And there's some songs from Footloose remake.

Best game you played during your break from XIV?
FFXI, started just after FFXIV ended and hooked me so much! ^^

Best place you went during your break from XIV?
The magic land called Fluffy Island. (a.k.a bed. lol)

Best thing that happened to you during your break from XIV?
Moving to my new room, which is twice bigger than my old one.

Game you played the most during your break from XIV?
FFXI again.

Feature you're most looking forward to testing out?
Since I didn't get alpha, maybe alot of things I can hardly describe.

Class/Job you're most looking forward to playing?
Hopefully that new archanist/summoner.

Biggest thing you want to figure out during beta to carry with you into release and help you?

Feature you think you will enjoy the most?
Hoping for more lag-free and no more congestion. And hoping this new world won't make me wish 1.0 world so much.

Job you think your Linkshell/Free Company will want you to play the most for endgame activities?
Was hoping for more versatile, as in using any jobs at will. Maybe not so much on whm though.

Primal battle you think you will enjoy the most?
Why... Shiva ofc.

Primal battle you think you will dislike the most?
Ifrit. The huge scar of terrible drop-luck from that fight hurts me badly. xp

Feature you hope will be implemented to 2.0 eventually?
Bigger space! So big that I never have to worry about it again! XD

Job you hope gets implemented to 2.0 eventually?
Beastmaster. I like this job in FFXI even before playing it.

Feature from FFXI(11) you hope will be implemented in 2.0 eventually?
Probably the missing jobs, chocobo raising, adventure fellow to name a few. And perhaps better market system since I like XI's better than XIV.

Feature from FFXI(11) you hope will never be implemented in 2.0?
Time waiting. There are many instances in XI where after players leaves, needs huge amount of time before allowed to do/enter again, which sometimes can even go up to a week.
