    Vintage Haubergeon vs Templar's Haubergeon

I dont understand why ppl prefer templars over vintage? The regular vintage wins by 3 defence, 2 mag. defence, 1 evasion and 1 resilience. i recently crafted and vintage+2 and the difference with the regular are 14 more defence, 8 mag. defence, 5 evasion.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

People are picky about their looks and rarity only adds more to the appeal. People don't concern themselves with defensive stats as much as other stats when not being the main player taking constant damage. Haubergeon = Attack Body Armor, Cuirass = Defensive Body Armor.

i don't like the shape of the templer helmet... and the lower part of the shoulder/arm guards
also it does not fit in somehow, we have no knights. I would rather like to see some gladiator gear.
The models are reused way too much, in some dev video and pictures you see even more variations of the gear for higher level.

Same with all the Rank 50 Weapons.

Some guy is selling an Oak Macuahuitl +3 (!) for the same gil as an Aeolian Scimitar. The Macuahuitl has 30 Attack (170+ vs 144) more and 25 Acc, but looks like crap. And there you have the answer.

    1. PPL have tons of money and nothing to do with it.
    2. The game is extremly easy, so noone needs good stats.
    3. Good equipment is easy to make, good looking, but "bad" equipment is hard to get.

Despite all these obvious reasons, it still surprises me though, how much money people are willing to spend on gear, which isn't by far that good.

We were just discussing stats on the Vintage Haubergeon vs the Templar set and there is a belief there are hidden stats with sets, so perhaps the Templar set is no exception. Someone who has this set should test it out by taking things on/off and let us know. If the overall stats better the character than the Vintage Haubergeon, then the fashion is just a bonus!

Because the Templar Chain Coif and sollerets have slightly better stats than the cavalry stuff... And the Vintage Haubergeon doesn't "Match" the Templar Chain coif and sollerets
I personally just look at it like having 2 sets so I dont need to get repairs as much...
    Set 1
Vintage Haub, Iron Celata (Or cavalry chain coif if you so choose), Iron Sabatons (Or Cavalry Sollerets), Iron Plate Belt
    Set 2
Templar Haub, Templar Chain coif, Templar Sollerets, Templar Tassets

The full Templar set has roughly the same stats as the vintage haub with Cavalry head and feet
The Templar stuff can't be HQ'ed though... so minus 10 points for that
In the end the Vintage wins though...
Especially with as many +1's you see around
