Will the races have different starting stat bonuses?

Will a roegadyn have a STR or VIT bonus and a dunesfolk lalafel have an added INT or MND bonus? Will elezen have a few more more DEX compared to others? When rolling a new character I like to think of what class I would like to be, and then pick a race which is best suited for that class. Even if the difference can be offset by gear or point allotment in the future, a little boost to certain stats starting out based on race would make the experience a little more dynamic.

In 1.0 each tribe had different starter stats already. We will see if they have it still in ARR

The difference in stats was pretty unnoticable tho and didn't effect a races ability to do any class.

And that's the way it should be. Otherwise you'll have people wanting to change their race every time they play a different class for the stat bonus.

The attribute system in XIV was screwed beyond reason. Stat differences between races and classes only ever matters early on, never end-game when you're gearing yourself up.

This is why they're going 1:1 (base:allocation) more so than anything.

Please. I've yet to see this happen in any MMO with racial differences in stats/class affinities and yes they do exist as there's plenty MMOs out there not by the same 4 companies. In FFXI some of the best mages I've met and played with, especially SMN and WHM, were Galkas. They didn't want to change to Taru because tarus are "better mages." I didn't see Taru THFs swap to Mithra because they have better agi and dex. That situation is so hypothetical that it would never happen with logical players.

Also XIV had racial and gender differences after an update when you made a new character, it was barely noticeable because stat differences in this game mattered far less than dlvl.
