Written below is a letter I wrote a long time ago to the employees at Square-Enix and sent to them, but I doubt they ever got it or read it.
Hahaha now okay, before you guys read it, IF you read it, or say anything this may sound kind of corny, but it really did come from my heart.I am sure a lot of you guys can agree and sympathize with this letter.
Hopefully one of the DEVS reads it and can pass on the encouragement to all the workforce over at Square since this letter does apply to the current status of FFXIV
To the many employees, past-present-future of Square/Square-Enix,
I don't know if this letter will ever be read, or if it will even be put in a huge pile of junk mail. I also don't know the financial status of the company. If it's doing well currently or if it's doing poorly, or worse, as rumors have spread, on the brink of bankruptcy. But I am simply writing this letter to encourage you all. You all have worked so hard, and put so much time and effort over the years into these things called "video games". All for us the "fans", for our enjoyment. You have probably put up with so much hardships behind the scenes that your fans don't even know about, and I just want to thank you all as a dedicated Final Fantasy fan.
I fell in love with the series ever since FFX. It was my first ever Final Fantasy game. The characters, story, music and game play touched my heart deeply. I remember how much I cried like a baby and how my heart had felt at the end, when Tidus had to fade away, leaving his love Yuna to cope. I then got into previous Final Fantasy games like 7, 8, and 9. All were beautiful and touched my heart deeply. Like many I also cried like a baby when Aeris had died at the hands of Sephiroth, when Squall and Rinoa were lost in space, and when Dagger's summons were used against her. Moments like these, are what separated, to me at least, the average mindless video game from a Final Fantasy title. These games have done more for me than just entertain. As much as I would like to believe games as wonderful as these are just grown on trees, they're not. There are hundreds of dedicated and hard-working people that are involved in building them. They inspire me to work hard, to be more creative, and to enjoy moments of life more. When times are hard, they are an escape into a world of fantasy and fun, and when I think I am the only person in the world going through something hard, I turn on one of these games and realize I am not alone. Although these are fictional stories of course, I know they were written and inspired by real people, and real life problems, and just as the heroes in these games overcome their problems and situations, I know you guys will too. Even when you guys try something new and different to bring to your market of fans, and it doesn't seem to be working out, I just want you guys to know there are still lot's of dedicated fans like myself that will always be trying out each game and cheering you guys on!
If someone however does happen to read this, and if I can help even just one person there at Square, then I have done my job as a dedicated Final Fantasy fan. I wish you all and your company the best of luck in the years to come, and pray that Final Fantasy is blessed to continue its work for generations to come. Always entertaining, innovating and inspiring.
