I own a Logitech G700 and I can say that it is capable of charging the battery while using it through a micro USB cable. It uses a plain rechargable x1 AA NiMH battery. It has a battery level indicator on the side to show when it is getting low so that you can avoid those in game mishaps. I have had the mouse die on me during game time. But since it can be plugged in USB I only have 3-5sec downtime before I can use it again. Plug and Play USB works that quickly

The Razer has an equivalent mouse Orochi I believe. It also has a charge over USB cable. I however don't have any personal experience with this mouse. http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-orochi

Thats one thing I like about my g500, the extra buttons are pretty well laid out. 3 by the thumb and 2 by the lmb, plus the wheel L&R buttons. 7 extra buttons shared between your thumb and fingers it works really well.

not to many buttons in one place so easy to hit the right one.

My Logitech G700 is that way and there are quite a few Razers that do the same! It's a good feature to look for in a wireless gaming mouse. Buttons are nice, but when you have as many buttons as a Naga it's far to easy to press the wrong key because there are so many! lol

However I am seriously thinking about getting a Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard or RAZER ORBWEAVER or RAZER NOSTROMO. That way I can push my gaming stuff to the side when I need to do some REAL work! lol
I love my Nostromo, but the only times I ever used it for XIV were for fishing, and that was only to reduce wrist pain. I talk too much in game to not have my keyboard right there at all times.

Then again, my keyboard tray is tiny, so I have to physically push my keyboard away to use the Nostromo. Might be better for people not using 20 year old kids sized Ikea computer desks.

I have heard some bad things about the LCD screen on the deathstalker "ultimate".. Stuff like it being laggy / crappy quality / fairly useless /not worth the money you pay. Correct me if I'm wrong and someone owns one.

Like somebody else said, that's pretty typical of gaming keyboards, so I wouldn't doubt it. Most everything is made from the cheapest parts possible these days, quality is hard to find anymore.

    Good for you~

I had (notice the past tense) a friend, who i recommended G13 for her needs, but she had troubles getting used to the new layout, coming from a traditional keyboard. She later returned it to the store. Which is kinda sad, since she was a tremendeously good healer, and that G13 might have made her even better and faster.

What i'm trying to say, is, if you have the chance, try them out first. Or make sure you can return it, if you're not happy with the product, whichever you pick. It's really a learning experience. I personally killed trash mobs 2 hours straight, until i started to feel comfortable and secure about it, and still had the occasional "waitwut?"-moment some days after.

That's where the Steelseries Merc excels, the layout is really natural feeling. It beats the hell out of the Logitech stuff.

No. They are all abominations. Every new layout, gamepad and mouse that adds features, that are specifically targeted for gamers and alters the traditional button concepts, are personal learning experiences.

Look at the layout again, for the most important buttons (W,A,S,D, etc.) the only alteration to the traditional button layout, is that it's made more ergonomic. It was extremely easy to get used to. The two rows of number keys is also an awesome addition. One of the fantastic things is that for the buttons that are different, some are raised, lowered, or shaped differently, which makes them easy to find even if you normal look at the keyboard when you type.

    completely agreed here.

it's nice to have the full regular keyboard along with the added gamepad to the side. about the only thing i dislike about the merc so far is the fact that you have to change over to get the numbers or delete to work because like 1 and del are the same key. it's a minor issue as i switched to the merc after my last zboard finally died. that was one board that took some getting use to.

i love both the zboard and the merc because of the butterfly layouts for gaming. it makes life so much better when playing fps games and it's also great for mmo's because you can customize every key on the board to whatever you want.
