I hear David Bowie might be there

I think it was a good idea - just like way into the future lol.
It will be good to build up a lot of lore and technology in game first - so through a couple expansions and large updates, and perhaps escapades through special devices.
No shame :P
Normally I'd lol at someone saying lets go to space in a fantasy sword and shield game but FF games have gone to space before, and we have civilizations in the past that did things relating to space (sending bahamut in a prison far into space who was summoned back down with a tractor beam lol - SE has a lot of room to go big tech, while not within the year of release I can imagine a FFX Zanarkand city in FFXIV). Perhaps a long quest chain and expansion series reviving the Allagan city, or the Garleans are even more badass then I thought lol
The precedence is there, I don't see why the idea should be scoffed at.

I don't know about David bowie, but i know who is in space.
The Agent of Enquiry and Inspector Extraordinaire, Hildebrand in space!!!
The Allagan civilization is gone since thousands of years. All what remained are ruins and artefacts. While I think it would be pretty fun, I don't see it happening.
The only time space-travel happens in other FF games is through advanced technology. The only times I can remember it happens is in FFIV, FFVII, FFVIII, and is mentioned in FFX-2 since it is connected with FFVII. But, since the continent of Eorzea isn't really all that technologically advanced, I doubt we'll ever be going into space. Who knows, though? Maybe the Allagans, Garleans, or Sharlayans are more advanced than we think.
The Allagans banned him there.

But we could learn from them - or some ancient ruin ends up being a giant floating citadel loading with tech becoming a PvP ground that over time unlocks tech for the city states.
Besides random history guessing taking a peak at Garlean tech again I do believe Garleans are advanced enough to be considering out of orbit flight, besides their Legatus are in freaking space suits lol (laser spears, laser gauntlets) and their ships are very high tech.
Garleans are OP

I think space is a good idea. The Garleans seems to have the technology with giant floating ships, as do the ancient Allegan Empire technology that can move giant mass of matter from space.
I think it is more the "void" of creation etc ... Where the famous "crystal" is.. I don't think that's specifically space.. As most of the previous FF stories have been about life force / energy from within the planet.
What are we talking about?
Bahamut? He literally came from space, he was in the sky, next to the moon, next to the stars, and he grew each day (patch) - all leads to "space".
I'm curious if we will ever get to see the Lodestone in person though... That would be pretty epic..
